Kenya Power issues blackout notice in parts of 4 counties on Sunday, August 30

Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in parts of four counties on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
The company said the blackouts will be carried out as part of network maintenance, with the affected areas expected to experience outages during the stated hours.
“Good Evening. The listed areas will be under planned power maintenance tomorrow (30TH AUGUST 2026). The interruption is part of network maintenance. We regret any inconvenience that may occur during the operations,” Kenya Power wrote on Saturday, August 29, 2026.
Nairobi County
In Nairobi County, parts of Likoni Road and Road C will experience a power interruption from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026. The affected areas include Ideal Paints Likoni Rd, Capitol Laundry, Jaykish Traders, C&P Shoes, Park View Apts, East Africa Spectre and Panari Hotel.
Other affected customers include DTB Mombasa Road, Airtel Head Quarters, Mombasa Road, Panari, Olesereni, Equity Bank Mombasa Road, Express Kenya, Diamond Est, Balozi Est and Park Side Towers, as well as adjacent customers.
Nakuru County
Parts of Nakuru County will also experience a planned outage in Naivasha from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Kenya Power listed Maxim, Bohemian, Kamere, OR Power Housing, KenGen Plaza & Housing and High Lift Pump among the affected areas.
Oserian and Msambweni will also be affected, together with adjacent customers in the listed areas. The interruption is scheduled to run for eight hours as Kenya Power carries out network maintenance.
Uasin Gishu County
In Uasin Gishu County, the affected area is Pan Paper Market, where power will be off from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2026. The listed areas include Pan Paper Market, Mlimani, Nabemo, Munge and Saleh.
Other affected areas are Sipande and adjacent customers. Kenya Power said the interruption is part of planned network maintenance and advised customers to take note of the scheduled outage.
Kisumu County
In Kisumu County, Karebe Gold Mine and surrounding areas will experience a power interruption from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. The affected areas include Karebe Gold Mine, Kibesem and Chemumul Primary School Market.
Adjacent customers in the listed areas will also be affected during the maintenance period. Kenya Power said it regrets any inconvenience that may occur during the operations and has provided advance notice of the planned interruptions.
