List of areas to experience power blackout on Wednesday, June 24

Kenya Power has announced planned power maintenance that will affect several areas across the country on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
The utility firm said the scheduled maintenance will take place in parts of Nandi, Laikipia, Nyeri, Tharaka Nithi, and Kwale counties. Customers in the affected areas are expected to experience temporary power interruptions during the exercise.
“Good evening, kindly receive the areas scheduled for maintenance tomorrow, 24.06.2026,” Kenya Power said on X on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
Nandi County
According to the notice, parts of Nandi County in the North Rift Region will be affected. The maintenance will take place in the Kemeloi Serem area from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Customers in the affected locations have been advised to plan during the outage period.
“Aldai Technical, Kemeloi Sec, Kemeloi Mkt, Serem Boys Sec, Chebara Mkt & adjacent customers,” Kenya Power said.
The North Rift, specifically in Langas, Kona Mbaya, Yamumbi, Gitwe, and Jijenge Quarry, experienced a blackout on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
Laikipia County
In the Mt. Kenya Region, parts of Laikipia County will also experience a blackout. The maintenance will affect the Bantu Lodge and Mureru areas from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Several institutions, businesses, and nearby customers are included in the notice.
The areas are Bantu Lodge, Giachuma, Mureru, Kadara, Misty Mountain, Narumoru Boys Secondary School, Kirereshwa, Wakariru, Nelion Hotel & adjacent customers.
Nyeri County
Kenya Power also listed several locations in Nyeri County that will be affected. The outage will occur in the Gatondo Market and Itundu Market areas between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. Schools, markets, booster stations, and surrounding customers are among those expected to be affected.
Gatondo Market, Gatondo Secondary School, Gatondo Primary School, Mutitu TBC, Kiawaiguru TBC, Muthuthi-ini TBC, Thangathi TBC, Chehe TBC, Kiarage TBC, Kariki TBC, Gitemaini TBC, Itundu Market, Itundu Secondary School, Itundu Primary School, Gachugu-ina TBC, Safaricom Boosters, Airtel Boosters & adjacent customers are the areas that will be without power.
Tharaka Nithi County
In Tharaka Nithi County, maintenance has been scheduled for the Kiaritha Market area. The exercise will run from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. and is expected to affect several markets, schools, and nearby customers.
“Kiaritha Mkt, Prof Ntiba, Chuka University Kairini, Makanyanga Mkt, Kabururu Mkt, Mukunga Mkt, Karambari Pri, Ntumbara Mkt & adjacent customers,” Kenya Power said.
Kwale County
Meanwhile, in Kwale County, customers in the Diani Beach Hospital and Leisure areas will also experience an outage. The maintenance is scheduled to take place from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
The areas include Little Star, Bustani, Magagaja, Diani Beach Hospital, Leisure, Leopard, ABSA & adjacent customers.
