Kenya Power confirms blackouts in areas set for Tuesday, June 23, maintenance
Kenya Power has listed areas set for scheduled power interruptions on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
The utility company, on Monday, June 22, 2026, shared the update on its social media platforms to give customers time to prepare.
In its evening update, Kenya Power stated, the planned maintenance exercise is aimed at improving service reliability
“The listed areas will be under planned power maintenance tomorrow (23rd June 2026)” Kenya Power stated.
The service cuts will affect several regions and are expected to last between 8.00 am and 9.00 pm.
Nairobi and Mt. Kenya regions
According to the utility company, parts of Nairobi West will be without power from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The affected areas include Lenana Road, Kasuku Road, Nyangumi Road, Yaya Centre, Timau Road, Mtito Andei Road, Mukuyu Lane, Jabavu Road, and Thetha Lane.

The Mt Kenya region has several counties on the spot. In Laikipia County, areas like Kwahuku SDA, Toll Station, Ragati, Nanyuki Boarding, and the local airstrip will lose power from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Nyeri County will face the same timelines, with Narumoru Girls, Rongai, Dawama, and Munyu affected.
Over in Meru County, the interruption starts earlier, running from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. It will affect Miathene Market, Kimuthi Polytechnic, and Kitheo Village. Tharaka Nithi County will have a switch-off from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm around Makuri Girls, Chogoria, and Girira village.
Additionally, in Embu County, the maintenance will run from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, hitting St Christopher Nembure, Karue Booster, Enna Market, and Limbua.
Coast, North Rift and Western regions
Kenya Power further added that the Coast region will also see interruptions. Kilifi County will experience power outages from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in parts of Kwa Ndomo, Mitangani, Majivuni, and Malindi Prisons.
In Kwale County, the outage will happen during the same hours, hitting Manyatta, Alliance Safari, and Baobab.

In the North Rift, Uasin Gishu County will go dark from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The specific areas are Langas Kona Mbaya, Yamumbi, Gitwe, and Jijenge Quarry.
Finally, Busia County in the Western region will face a cut from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The blackout will affect Busibwaro, Siekunyu, Nasira, Kajoro, Nambale, and Malanga. Kenya Power has asked affected customers to bear with the situation.
