Isaya Yunge shares Joshua Selman video as his influence continues to grow in Kenya after Rhema Feast

Tanzanian technology entrepreneur Isaya Yunge has shared a video of Nigerian preacher Apostle Joshua Selman delivering a powerful teaching, days after the renowned minister’s appearance at the Rhema Feast in Nairobi continued to dominate conversations among Kenyan Christians.

Yunge shared the video on his Instagram Story on Saturday, September 12, 2026, reposting a clip originally published by Koinonia Global, the Nigerian ministry led by Selman, in which the preacher speaks at length about spiritual growth, mentorship and the gradual process through which believers are prepared for greater assignments.

In the video, Selman uses the example of a young child to explain why spiritual development must happen progressively, arguing that believers cannot be introduced to complex matters before they have first learnt the foundations of their faith.

Selman explains that people must first learn how to understand and apply the Word of God to their lives before they can be entrusted with greater responsibilities and influence.

“God cannot give you nations when you do not know how to use the Word of God to meet your needs. You will be distracted from obeying Him. So when He starts with you, He teaches you,” Selman says in the video.

The preacher stresses the importance of mentorship, describing it as a process that must be built progressively and likening spiritual development to the way a child grows from infancy into adulthood.

Selman says a person cannot approach a spiritual beginner with lofty declarations about nations and expect them to understand what is being discussed when they are still at the earliest stage of their spiritual journey.

“This is why mentorship must be line upon line. You do not call people and start talking about nations. They do not even understand what you are saying. They are babes,” Selman adds.

Using a baby as an example, he explains that an infant’s immediate concerns are simple ones such as feeding, sleeping, crying and eventually crawling, rather than understanding complex conversations about destiny or influence.

The preacher then draws a parallel between physical growth and spiritual maturity, explaining that just as a child is eventually weaned from milk and introduced to the education system, believers also move through different stages of development.

He says the child may spend a significant portion of life believing that education is the ultimate destination, only to discover after graduation that another dimension of life awaits.

Selman uses the analogy to drive home his broader message that spiritual growth is a journey that requires patience, instruction and proper mentorship rather than shortcuts.

“You do not meet a little baby as he is sucking his mother’s breast and start talking to him. If you are prophesying about the child, fine, but you do not look at the child and say, ‘You are going to nations,’ like you are having a conversation. That is a waste of time. The child wants to eat, sleep, cry and crawl. That is it,” Selman says in the video shared by Yunge.

His latest message shared by Yunge comes shortly after Selman became one of the most talked-about ministers during the 2026 edition of Rhema Feast, a five-day Christian gathering held at Uhuru Park in Nairobi from August 31 to September 4.

Rhema Feast was held under the theme “Come, Let Us Rebuild” and brought together thousands of Christians for worship, teaching, prayer and spiritual reflection. The gathering was founded in 2015 under RUACH Assemblies, the ministry of Reverend Julian Kyula.

Selman was among the major international ministers featured at the event, with his appearance drawing particularly intense attention from worshippers.

When he took to the stage on Thursday, September 3, the crowd erupted into cheers, with worshippers rushing to capture his appearance on their phones as he made his way towards the stage.

His reception continued into the final day of the gathering on Friday, September 4, when hundreds of worshippers at Uhuru Park lit their phone torches as he returned to the stage, creating a sea of lights across the venue.

The preacher’s Nairobi visit consequently introduced his teachings to an even wider Kenyan audience, with clips from his sermons continuing to circulate online after the conclusion of the five-day gathering.
