Didmus Barasa mourns passing of Senator Mandago’s mother

Kimilili Member of Parliament and Bungoma gubernatorial aspirant, Didmus Barasa, has expressed his condolences to Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago following the death of his mother, Mama Esther Lelei.
In a statement shared on his X account on Saturday, January 31, 2026, Barasa described the loss of a mother as an irreplaceable void.
“My heartfelt condolences to Uasin Gishu Senator @GvnMandago & his entire family on the passing of their beloved mother, Mama Esther Lelei. Losing a mother leaves an irreplaceable void! She was your light & special gift. May the Lord comfort and strengthen you all through this deep sorrow,” Barasa stated.

Mama Esther Lelei passed away at Eldoret Hospital while undergoing treatment. Many leaders have expressed their condolences, praising her life and legacy.
“On behalf of the County Government and the great people of Uasin Gishu, I wish to convey my heartfelt condolences to Senator Jackson Mandago and his family on the passing of his beloved mother, Esther Lelei. We stand with the family in prayers and support during this difficult time,” Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii said.
“My heart goes out to my brother, Senator Jackson Mandago, and the entire family following the painful loss of your beloved mother, Mama Esther Tapsiarga Lelei. She was a source of unconditional love, strength and guidance, and her absence will be deeply felt by all whose lives she touched. May the Almighty God wrap you and your family in His comfort, grant you strength beyond human understanding, and give you peace during this season of deep sorrow. Rest in eternal peace, Mama Esther. “We stand with Senator Mandago and his family during this difficult time. We ask God to give them strength to bear the loss of his mother,” Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich said.
