CS Miano shares update on baby rhino named Rhinaldo by IShowSpeed

Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano has issued an update on a baby rhino that was named Rhinaldo by American streamer IShowSpeed when he visited the Nairobi Animal Orphanage on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Speaking during an interview with YouTuber Mufasa on Saturday, January 24, 2026, Miano revealed that the young rhino is still growing well and appears to be healthy.

“Yeah, Speed named the baby rhino Rhinaldo. The small rhino is still growing well,” she stated.

She noted, however, that animals do not fully understand human actions or what is happening around them, so it is impossible to know how the baby rhino feels about being named by the streamer.

CS Miano emphasised that, from the perspective of the conservancy and caretakers, the naming of Rhinaldo was a very special and memorable moment.

She explained that IShowSpeed had chosen the name inspired by one of his fans, Ronaldo, making the occasion even more meaningful for everyone present.

“But as you know, animals do not really understand things or what is going on around them, so we cannot say we know how the baby rhino feels about having been named by Speed. For us, the naming of that rhino was very special,” she stated.

The Cabinet Secretary added that IShowSpeed had also had the chance to feed milk to the baby rhino, which she described as a unique experience that allowed the streamer to interact closely with the animal and appreciate the work being done at the orphanage.

She further expressed hope that other celebrities would follow a similar path, highlighting that there are several baby elephants, baby rhinos, and other animals under care that could be named in a way that promotes awareness and support for wildlife conservation.

“Rhinaldo, I think, Speed picked it from his fan Ronaldo, and that was quite something, as Speed also had the chance to feed the rhino milk. I am hoping other stars will come and name others, as we have baby elephants, baby rhinos, and many other animals,” she said.

Kenya IRL stream

The popular American streamer’s visit to Kenya began on Sunday, January 11, 2026, with a high-energy livestream at Upper Hill High School in Nairobi, where he was welcomed enthusiastically by students and teachers.

During the stream, the YouTube personality engaged with learners, attempting a rugby session on the school pitch and interacting with world-renowned javelin champion Julius Yego, who coached him briefly before observing Speed try his own throws.

The American content creator also explored Kenyan cuisine, cooking ugali and chapati with guidance from locals, and sampling traditional dishes such as mukimo and nyama choma, which he declared his favourite combination.

His first day concluded at Nairobi National Park, where he expressed amazement at the sight of rhinos and lions set against the city skyline.

The day ended on a record-breaking note, with Speed gaining 360,000 subscribers in a single stream, pushing his total to 48 million and marking Kenya as the country that delivered the largest subscriber surge in his Africa tour.
