Salasya opens up on awkward moment with lady at a concert

Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has opened up on an awkward moment with a lady at a concert after the MP shared a personal story about a missed chance during a recent music event at Nyayo Stadium.
On Sunday, December 21, 2025, the lawmaker revealed that he took a photo with a woman he admired but failed to ask for her phone number, an experience he described as embarrassing and disappointing.
“I took a photo with this beautiful girl at the Asake event at Nyayo Stadium, but I failed the gods of Wanga land. I did not ask for her number,” Salasya said while recalling the moment.
He admitted that the situation has stayed on his mind since the concert. Salasya went on to ask for help from the public, hoping the woman might be identified.

“Mkenya mwenye anamjua amusalamie aki muvua hunyesheya wasiokuwa wakulimaji,” he wrote, expressing regret over what he called a lost opportunity.
The MP said fear held him back, explaining that he often overthinks such moments.
“Hii uoga ya kuuliza number nitatoa lini kwa akili yangu,” Salasya said, openly admitting his struggle with confidence in first encounters.
He further explained that his fear comes from worrying about rejection.
“The first impression huwa nikiuliza namba atanitusi ama akikataa nitasema nini,” he said, noting that embarrassment can block many chances in life.
Salasya described the moment as another lesson learned too late.
Salasya links love, music, and leadership dreams
Beyond the awkward moment, Salasya has continued to position himself as a leader who values music and entertainment. He recently promised to host free concerts if elected president, saying music should be accessible to everyone.

Salasya said the high demand for tickets at major concerts in Nairobi inspired his vision. He argued that entertainment should unite people regardless of their financial status.
Salasya stated that under his leadership, concerts would be organised in a way that allows people to enjoy performances by top local and international artists without paying entry fees.
He referenced the recent Nyayo Stadium concert headlined by Nigerian star Asake and UK-based singer Gabzy. The show attracted thousands and sold out quickly, marking one of the biggest music events in Nairobi this year.
