Lydia Wanjiru shocked after fans say she could be arrested due to wash wash

Content creator Lydia Wanjiru has joked about joining shady criminal dealings, popularly called wash wash.
The content creator engaged her followers on Instagram on Friday, February 6, 2026, requesting to know what would cross their minds if she were to be arrested.
“If I got arrested, what would you think I probably did?” Wanjiru asked on Instagram.
The responses trickled in, with the content creator revealing that many had indicated that their first guess would be involvement in wash wash.

She shared a screenshot with the response, expressing her shock and adding that she has publicly shared how she earns a living.

“Waah, a number of you have said this (referring to the response that her arrest would be due to wash wash). I’m still shocked coz huwa nawaonyesha my hustle daily.
This loosely translates to: A number of you have said this. I’m still shocked because I show you how I earn a living daily.
On a lighter note, Wanjiru added that she would not mind being linked on the wash wash networks
“But ebu connect me by the way,” Wanjiru added.
Lydia Wanjiru’s approach to parenting
The outspoken social media personality has been giving her bold take on a number of issues, including her personal choices.
She recently voiced her concerns over the late Betty Bayo’s daughter, Sky, and her presence on social media.
She confirmed her support for the idea that Sky should stay away from the internet until she is an adult, adding that the minor was exposed to too early, and now it may be too late to set such boundaries.

“I don’t want to ask what her close family thinks about her presence online and how they handle such situations where she has to explain such things herself,” she said.
She embraced the possibility that her wishes may not become reality, adding that “unfortunately, she was exposed too early, and I think it’s too late now to enforce such a boundary now!”
She observed that adults sometimes ask children questions that they are not ready to answer and explained that Sky’s early exposure could have long-term effects on her well-being.
The businesswoman emphasised the importance of protecting children from online pressures.
