Gospel singer Njeru Thiga back in India for treatment amid cancer fight
Gospel singer Njeru Thiga has travelled back to India for further medical treatment as he continues to battle cancer, according to an emotional update shared by his wife, Ann Njambi.
Ann confirmed the development in a Facebook post on Sunday, May 17, 2026, where she asked Kenyans to keep her husband in their prayers as he undergoes the next stage of his treatment journey abroad.
She expressed gratitude to supporters who have stood with the family through the difficult period, saying they have continued to carry their burden as their own.
“Please pray and wish NJERU THIGA KENYA well as he goes through the process back in India. God bless you for always carrying our burden as yours,” she wrote.
Ann also extended appreciation to well-wishers and partners who have offered support, including gospel singer Karangu Muraya, noting that their kindness has been a source of strength to the family.
“May God carry yours in Jesus’ name. God bless you for us together with my brother Karangu Muraya,” she wrote.

On the same day, the family also marked a personal milestone as Ann celebrated her birthday, receiving a heartfelt message from her husband despite his ongoing health struggles.
In his message, Njeru Thiga described Ann as the loving mother of their children and expressed admiration for how she cares for both him and their sons.
He wished her a happy birthday and prayed that God would continue to bless her and fulfil her heart’s desires, expressing his deep love and appreciation for her support.
“Happy birthday to Njambi wa Njeru, my wife and the incredible mom of our boys. Watching you love our boys and I the way you do makes me proud every single day. May God give you everything you always wish for. Love you always, again… Happy birthday,” Njeru wrote.
First India trip
The Kigooco singer first travelled to India on Friday, December 19, 2025.
In a Facebook post made by Karangu Muraya, Njeru could be seen posing at the departure lounge with his wife, Njambi.
In the caption, Karangu confirmed that Njeru had travelled to India for treatment and urged fans to continue supporting and praying for him.
“May India favour you, my brother, Njeru Thiga. May healing be your portion in Jesus’ mighty name. Thank you all for supporting this man of God,” Karangu shared.

Karangu also expressed gratitude to all artistes and well-wishers who had contributed to the fundraising efforts, noting that collective support had made it possible for Njeru to travel quickly for the treatment.
“Continue praying and supporting him through his number (+254725322726 Peter Njeru Thiga),” he wrote.
