Shakib Cham sends emotional message to Kenyans ahead of highly anticipated fight with Arrow Bwoy

Ugandan socialite Shakib Cham has sent an emotional message to Kenyans ahead of his highly anticipated boxing match against Kenyan musician Arrow Bwoy at the Vurugu 2 boxing event.
On Friday, June 19, 2026, Shakib spoke about his journey to the fight and called on Kenyans to support him as he prepares for his first international bout.
“Wakenya wenzangu, habari yenu! 🇰🇪 Mimi ni Shakib Cham, mtoto wa Uganda, ndugu yenu wa East Africa,” Shakib Cham said.
He explained that his path to this moment has been filled with sacrifice and determination. According to him, he has spent years working hard and pushing himself through difficult situations with the goal of proving that an East African fighter can compete on a bigger stage.

“For years I’ve been waking up before sunrise, bleeding in the gym, taking loss after loss, and getting back up all for one reason: to prove that an East African fighter can stand on the world stage,” Shakib Cham said.
The Ugandan socialite noted that the opportunity he has been waiting for has finally arrived. He said his first international fight will take place in Kenya, where he will step into the ring against Arrow Bwoy.
“Now that dream is real. My first international fight is happening right here in Kenya, and I’m stepping into that ring with Arrow Bwoy,” Shakib Cham said.
Road to the big fight
Shakib further reflected on the challenges he faced while preparing for this stage. He explained that reaching this point required commitment and persistence despite setbacks along the way.
“Nimefanya kazi kubwa kufika hapa. Sleepless nights. Broken bones. Empty pockets. But I never quit, because I knew this moment would come — the moment I get to fight for our region, in front of our people,” Shakib Cham said.

He also praised Kenya for supporting people from across the region. Shakib said he believes Kenyans understand hard work and determination, which is why he wanted to address them before the fight.
“Kenya, you’ve always shown love to your brothers across the border. You understand heart. You respect hustle. You know what it means to back your own when the world is watching,” Shakib Cham said.
The fight between Shakib and Arrow Bwoy is expected to be the main attraction of the Vurugu 2 boxing card. Although neither competitor comes from a professional boxing background, the matchup has attracted significant attention because of their public profiles and rivalry leading up to the event.
