Pierra Makena encourages Pritty Vishy after her first emotional DJ gig

Veteran DJ Pierra Makena has offered words of encouragement to content creator and aspiring DJ Pritty Vishy after she opened up about breaking down in tears following her debut performance.
In a video shared on her Instagram page on Thursday, July 24, 2026, Pierra urged the upcoming entertainer not to lose hope, saying every successful DJ has experienced difficult moments at the beginning of their career.
Her message comes a day after Pritty Vishy revealed that she cried after her first DJ set was affected by technical problems despite weeks of preparation.
Pierra: Every DJ starts somewhere
Speaking in the video, Pierra said she understood exactly what Pritty was going through because she had faced similar experiences during her own journey. The award-winning DJ recalled performing in empty clubs and dealing with rejection before establishing herself in the entertainment industry.

“I’ve seen Pritty Vishy crying because her first show didn’t have people and I’m just wondering, just chill out. We all started there. I myself have played for an empty club. I’ve been there, done that. That’s the beginning and that’s what makes you successful,” she said.
Pierra explained that success in DJing does not come overnight, adding that every performer has to remain patient and consistent.
“You don’t just wake up and find a room filled with people. The hustle is real when it comes to DJing. You’ll be rejected, people will talk badly about you and refuse to give you jobs. It’s not easy,” she added.
Encourages young people to stay focused
Beyond addressing Pritty directly, Pierra said many young people become discouraged when things fail to go according to plan.
She urged them to remain hopeful and keep working towards their goals instead of giving up after experiencing setbacks.

“It was with so much concern that I felt the youth, and generally most people, tend to get frustrated when things don’t work out. Situations get tough, but that should not be a reason to demotivate you from achieving your goals. Stay ambitious, keep the consistency and be hopeful that good times will eventually come. You are your own cheerleader,” she said.
She concluded her message by encouraging Pritty to continue pursuing her dream.
“Don’t stop, Pritty Vishy. If you decide to become a DJ, do not stop. Don’t get discouraged. Don’t give up. There are times we’ve all been told we are not good enough, or even felt that way ourselves. Just keep going every day and one day you will be proud of the outcome,” Pierra said.
Pritty remains determined
Pierra’s remarks come after Pritty Vishy shared an emotional account of her first DJ performance, revealing that faulty equipment disrupted what she had spent weeks preparing for.

The content creator said she initially felt like she had failed as a beginner before her team assured her that the technical problems were beyond her control.
Although the experience left her emotional, Pritty said she has accepted it as part of her learning process and remains committed to achieving her dream of becoming one of Kenya’s top female DJs.
