Digital content creators Nicki Bigfish and Mzungu Mjanja have called off their planned Arsenal UEFA Champions League victory celebration at Nairobi Archives following PSG’s win in the UEFA Champions League final.

In a video shared on social media late on Saturday, May 30, 2026, the duo announced that the event would no longer take place and symbolically tore up a police gathering permit that had been obtained for the planned celebrations.

They said Arsenal’s success had only been postponed and encouraged supporters to remain hopeful about the club’s future.

“The victory has only been postponed. Arsenal fans should keep believing,” they said.

PSG claim European title

The cancellation came after PSG defeated Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League final to lift the European title. Paris Saint-Germain defended their Champions League crown by beating Arsenal 4-3 on penalties after a tense 1-1 draw in 120 minutes.

It was set to be a historic event for whoever won the coveted trophy. Arsenal were looking for their first Champions League title 20 years on from their last final appearance and to complete a historic double after their Premier League title win.

PSG were also aiming to defend the title they won in the previous campaign and became the first team since Real Madrid, between 2015 and 2018, to retain the European trophy.

The final was closely followed by football fans around the world, including Arsenal supporters in Kenya who had been preparing for possible celebrations.

Celebration plans cancelled

Before the match, Nicki Bigfish had publicly expressed confidence in Arsenal’s chances and invited supporters to gather at Nairobi Archives on Sunday, May 31, 2026, for what was expected to be a victory celebration.

The plans attracted attention online, especially after the content creator shared details of preparations for a procession within Nairobi’s CBD. Following the final result, however, the planned gathering was cancelled.

Police had been notified

Earlier, Nicki shared a copy of a letter addressed to Nairobi’s Regional Police Commander seeking security facilitation for the planned procession.

According to the letter, Arsenal supporters intended to hold a peaceful gathering and procession within the CBD. The proposed route was to begin at Nairobi Archives and pass through several major roads before returning to the starting point.

“The purpose of the gathering is to allow Arsenal supporters to celebrate and engage in a peaceful fan interaction in an organised and non-disruptive manner,” part of the letter stated.

Organisers also assured authorities that participants would cooperate with law enforcement officers and observe all regulations governing public gatherings.

Fans react online

Following the cancellation announcement, football fans shared their reactions on social media. While some sympathised with Arsenal supporters, others joked about the celebrations that had been planned before the final had been played.

Despite the disappointment, Nicki Bigfish and Mzungu Mjanja maintained that Arsenal supporters should remain optimistic about the club’s future.

For now, the planned celebration at Nairobi Archives has been called off, with Arsenal fans turning their attention to the next season and the hope of another opportunity to compete for European football’s biggest prize.
