Ni watu wa dunia: Kanyari reacts to Zuchu and Diamond’s luxury convoy after hospital discharge

Vocal preacher Victor Kanyari has weighed in on the lavish convoy that escorted Tanzanian music stars Zuchu and Diamond Platnumz home after they were discharged from hospital following the birth of their child.
Speaking during a church service,on Wensday, August 5,2026, Kanyari jokingly claimed he had not known Zuchu and Diamond were in a serious romantic relationship until he saw the convoy of luxury vehicles that escorted them and their newborn home from hospital.
“Kumbe Zuchu na Diamond walikuwa girlfriend na boyfriend? Niliona alichukua mtoto na convoy ishirini,” Kanyari said.
The preacher went on to describe the pair as people of the world, adding that such a grand display reflected a lifestyle different from that of Christians.
“Hao watu hawajaokoka ni watu wa dunia. Mtoto anazaliwa na Zuchu na Diamond na anachukuliwa na gari ishirini,”he remarked.
Kanyari then turned to his congregation with a humorous question, asking how many vehicles had accompanied them after the birth of their children.
“Wako ulimuchukua na gari ngapi? ama ulipanda matatu?” he quipped, drawing laughter from those in attendance.
Zuchu and Diamond discharge
His remarks came hours after Zuchu and Diamond Platnumz made headlines across East Africa following their lavish departure from hospital after welcoming their newborn.
Videos circulating on social media showed the couple leaving the medical facility under tight security, with Zuchu stepping into a blue Rolls-Royce Cullinan bearing a personalised “SIMBA” licence plate.
The luxury SUV was flanked by a convoy of dozens of high-end vehicles, including Cadillac Escalades, Toyota Land Cruisers and other SUVs.
Hundreds of onlookers packed every available vantage point, including the hospital’s balconies, hoping to catch a glimpse of the celebrity couple and their newborn before they departed.
The extravagant motorcade, which wound through the streets as supporters watched along the route, quickly became a talking point online. While many fans applauded the couple for celebrating the birth of their child in style, others questioned whether such a lavish display was necessary.

Diamond and Zuchu welcomed their baby girl on Sunday, August 2, 2026, marking one of the biggest celebrity moments in East Africa this year.
The announcement was first made by Diamond, who shared the joyous news with fans before later confirming that both mother and baby were in good health.
