In an Instagram post shared on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Lydia said the decision came in December 2024 after she realised she needed to take her health and body seriously.

She explained that the journey involved losing weight and undergoing surgery, a process she said has been worth it.

Lydia also praised her doctors, saying they supported her throughout the process and delivered the results they had discussed with her. “In December 2024, when I realised I needed to seriously take charge of my body, lose weight and get surgery, I was 104kgs,” she said.

Support from doctors in Kenya

The influencer said her experience is proof that people can access professional medical support within Kenya without having to travel abroad.

She noted that her doctors guided her through each stage of the process, helping her make the changes she wanted for her body and wellbeing. “My doctors promised to walk me through this journey and they delivered the results,” Lydia said.

“You don’t have to travel out of Kenya, and I’m proof of my doctors’ work,” she added.

Her post focused on the importance of making personal choices that support confidence and self-care.

Choosing herself

The content creator encouraged her followers to love themselves and make decisions that improve their lives.

According to Lydia, investing in oneself can help a person feel more confident and make it easier to leave situations that no longer bring value or peace. “The best way to live this life is to love and invest in yourself,” she said.

“No one can take that away from you, and you’ll be confident to choose and walk away with your head high from situations that do not serve that purpose,” she stated.

Her message drew attention to the personal side of weight loss and body transformation journeys, which can involve both physical and emotional changes.

For Lydia, the decision to begin the process was not only about losing weight. It was also about taking control of her wellbeing and making choices that made her feel better about herself.

Her post serves as a reminder that people approach health, weight and body changes differently, and that seeking qualified medical guidance is important for anyone considering surgery or a major lifestyle change.
