Kenya Power lists parts of 8 counties set for power outages on Wednesday, August 26

Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in parts of eight counties on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
The outages will affect selected areas in Nairobi, Machakos, Turkana, Kisumu, Bungoma, Migori, Nyeri and Kitui counties. The interruptions are scheduled at different times depending on the area.
On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, Kenya Power wrote, “Good evening, our esteemed customers. The following areas are scheduled for a planned power interruption tomorrow (26/08/2026).”
Nairobi County
In Nairobi, power interruptions will affect Githunguri Block 10, Karen and Upperhill from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Areas listed in Githunguri include Rual Junior, Comer ABC, Mosmas, Geostel, Githunguri S/Centre, Githunguri Pri, Falth Rd, Cider Progressive, Manyatta, Mayland, Kwa Bosire and Block 10.
In Karen, affected areas include Icolo Data Centre, Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Bogani Rd and St. Thomas Aquinas, while Upperhill will include Kakaya Kikwete Rd, Better Living Hosp, Integrity Centre, part of Valley Rd, Tourism Fund Plaza, Mebank Towers, Heron Hotel, Embassy of Slovenia and Sagret Hotel.
Machakos county
In Machakos County, the interruption will affect Konza and Ilpolosat from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The affected areas include Konza Mkt, Konza Data Centre, Prof. Mbithi, Mbindyo, Konza ABC Sec, Konza Railway, Mumo Matemo and part of Konza City.
Turkana County
In Turkana County, Lokichar, Katilu and Kalingmorok will experience an interruption from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The areas listed include Kalingmorok, Kakong, Kaputir, Katilu, Keekunyuk, Nakabosan and Lokichar.
Kisumu County
In Kisumu County, the planned interruption will affect Tom Mboya from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. The affected customers include Pinecone Hotel, part of Tom Mboya Estate and Synergy Hosp.
Bungoma County
In Bungoma County, Webuye Jaggery and Kapsokwony will be affected from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The areas include Munyikana, Mwalim House, Section of Dinah, United Millers, Molo, Santa Barbara, Malaha, Sirisia, Bunjosi, Webuye Jaggery, Noah Wekesa, Kapsokwony, Maeni, Makhese, Bituyu, Mkulima, Mwangale, Matulo, Milo, Ngwelo, Makhele and Mang’ana.
Migori County
In Migori County, Kegonga and Maeta will experience a power interruption from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The affected areas include the whole of Kogonga Town, Kebare, Matane, Marwa Main Line, parts of Maeta and Koromaguncha.
Nyeri County
In Nyeri County, Mwichuiri Market will be affected from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Areas listed include Mwichuiri Mkt, Lepela 2 Children Home, Kiriokor Mit, Soweto Mit, Kimbo Mi, Kimbo Village, Kambi Pri Sch and Njoguini Mid. Kariki TBC and Kawaiguru TBC will also be affected during the same period, including Gitema-ini TBC, Chehe Prich, Muttu TBC, Muthuthini TBC, Kawaguru TBC, Kahungu TBC, Safaricom Boosters and Airtel Boosters.
Kitui County
In Kitui County, Katsenthagani will experience a power interruption from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The affected areas include KATSE Mit, Nthangani Mit, Thagicu, Kimangao, Mbwangani Pri and Galanga.
