‘I can sleep on my back’: Lydia Wanjiru celebrates major recovery breakthrough after BBL

Influencer Lydia Wanjiru has shared her delight with fans after reaching a significant turning point in her recovery from cosmetic surgery.

Taking to her Instagram account on Monday, May 11, 2026, the social media star revealed she is finally reclaiming her bed after months of restrictive sleeping positions following a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) and liposuction 360.

For Wanjiru, the simple act of lying down has become a hard-won victory.

After undergoing procedures in late 2025 and a second round in April 2026, she has been under strict orders to avoid putting any direct pressure on her buttocks.

“I can now sleep on my back and sides for few hours. It’s a bit uncomfortable since it’s been a while but with time it gets better,” Wanjiru wrote to her followers.

The discomfort stems from a recovery process designed to ensure the survival of newly transferred fat cells, which surgeons warn can “deflate” or become asymmetrical if subjected to pressure during the first six weeks post-op.

The journey to this breakthrough has been nothing short of extreme.

To protect her results, Wanjiru was forced to sleep and even travel lying face-down on her stomach.

The influencer famously documented the “delicate” nature of her life, revealing that at one stage, she went five weeks without sitting down at all—even choosing to stand while eating.

Even as she began to reintroduce sitting into her routine, it required military-grade precision.

In December 2025, Wanjiru shared a video from a restaurant demonstrating her unique “sitting technique”.

The star utilized a specialized BBL pillow wedged carefully under her thighs to keep her buttocks suspended in the air, a setup described as looking like a “throne designed by an engineer who hates chairs”.

As Wanjiru finally begins to shift from her stomach to her back, her candid updates continue to provide her fans with a raw and often entertaining look at the high price of perfection in the world of influencer aesthetics.
