‘It’s time to heal’: Zuchu announces end of six-year love story with Diamond Platnumz

Tanzanian singer Zuchu has announced that she and Bongo Flava superstar Diamond Platnumz have parted ways after six years together.
The emotional announcement came on Sunday, July 12, 2026, just hours after fans noticed her absence during the lavish birthday celebration held for Diamond’s mother, Mama Dangote, where family members and close friends gathered as the singer showered his mother with extravagant gifts, including a luxury Rolex watch worth 160 million Tanzanian shillings (about Ksh7.8 million).
As speculation over her absence continued online, Zuchu took to social media with a heartfelt statement confirming that her relationship with Diamond, whose real name is Naseeb Abdul, had come to an end.
“Hello, my GPG. Mimi na aliyekuwa mwenzangu, we are now separated and going through a divorce,” she wrote.
The singer said making the announcement had not been easy, revealing that she had finally decided to put herself first after six years of trying to make the relationship work.
“I announce this with a heavy heart. After six years of being together, I have finally decided to choose myself,” she said.
Despite the separation, Zuchu wished Diamond and his family well, indicating there was no ill will as they each embarked on separate paths.
“Namtakia aliyekuwa mwenzangu Naseeb Abdul na familia yake kila la kheri,” she added.
The Sukari hitmaker further disclosed that her immediate priority is healing and rebuilding her life, saying she now wants to focus on her health and career.
“As for me, muda huu ni wa kupona na kufocus zaidi kwenye afya na kazi zangu. Riziki imeisha, Alhamdulillah,” she wrote.
She also suggested that despite their efforts to save the relationship, things had simply not worked out as they had hoped.
“Tulijaribu lakini Allah ana mipango yake na sina budi kuikubali. Ndo ubinaadam, ndo maisha. Hasbunallahu waniimal Wakiil,” she concluded.
What kind of a father did Zuchu hope Diamond would be?
Days ago, the songstress, born Zuhura Othman, opened up about her hopes for the future with Diamond Platnumz, revealing the kind of family life she envisions once they have children together.
According to Zuchu, one of her biggest wishes is to have children with the award-winning singer and eventually enjoy a quieter, more family-orientated lifestyle alongside him.
“I want to have kids with him, and then after that, I will also want to travel with him and also stay at home together. I want to help him out here and there,” she said.
The singer suggested that becoming parents would bring a new chapter to their relationship, one that would involve balancing family life, travel and supporting one another.
Zuchu also made it clear that while she hopes to have children, she is leaving the timing entirely in God’s hands.
She said she does not have a specific plan or deadline for when she wants to become a mother, insisting that she is ready whenever the blessing comes.
“At the time I want to have kids, I would say it’s okay anytime God finds it okay to reward me. I cannot say I have planned because it’s God who plans. Whenever the child comes, I am ready,” she explained.
The singer’s remarks offered a glimpse into her views on motherhood, with Zuchu saying she believes children are a blessing that arrives according to God’s timing rather than personal schedules.
She also spoke about Diamond Platnumz’s desire to have a large family, revealing that the singer hopes to father as many as ten children.
“My man Diamond wants ten children,” she disclosed.
However, Zuchu admitted that her own plans are much more modest.
“But for me, I don’t think I can reach that number. The ones I can manage are only two,” she said.
