Diamond Platnumz surprises mum with Ksh7.8M Rolex watch in lavish family moment

Tanzanian music superstar Diamond Platnumz has once again demonstrated his deep love and appreciation for his mother after surprising her with an extravagant collection of luxury gifts, including a Rolex watch worth a staggering 160 million Tanzanian shillings (approximately Ksh7.86 million).
In a video shared by Tanzanian YouTubers on Instagram on Sunday, July 12, 2026, the award-winning singer proudly unveiled the gifts before presenting them to his mother, revealing that he had deliberately chosen items he believed she would treasure.
Diamond disclosed that besides the luxury Rolex, he had also bought her an expensive gold jewellery set and several gold bangles, knowing how much she enjoys wearing them.
“And this is a golden set. I don’t want to mention how much it cost, but hold on a bit. I have also brought her another gift, which is bangles for her hands, because I know she loves to wear bangles so much. That’s why I have brought them for her also. They are also golden. I bought them for her in Dubai, and they are very expensive,” he said.
The singer then revealed the highlight of the gifts, a luxury Rolex watch valued at 160 million Tanzanian shillings, explaining that the timepiece was crafted using white rose gold and diamonds.
“I have also brought her a Rolex watch, and this watch is very expensive. It’s worth 160 million. The watch is made of white rose and diamond,” he revealed.
Diamond went on to express just how much his mother means to him, saying he can never repay her for the sacrifices she made while raising him.
“And I want to say I love my mum so much. I know she will love them so much,” he added.

The emotional moment became even more touching when the singer recalled one of the lowest points in his life before fame, admitting that he once secretly stole his mother’s ring and sold it so he could raise money to record his first song.
According to Diamond, that desperate decision eventually changed the course of his music career, but it also left him determined to one day repay his mother for everything she had sacrificed for him.
“In the story of my life, I remember my mum supported me so much. I remember when I left home to go record my first song, I stole my mum’s ring and went to sell it so I could record the song. So now, even when I see diamonds, I feel I should buy them for my mum. I want to thank her so much,” he said.
Diamond has never hidden the special bond he shares with his mother, Mama Dangote, who has remained one of his biggest supporters throughout his journey from a struggling young artiste in Tanzania to an internationally recognised musician and businessman.
