Ugandan socialite and reality TV star Zarina Hassan has come out to slam Tanzanian Bongo Flava sensation Diamond Platnumz, ridiculing his unwavering belief that he could effortlessly win her back whenever he so wishes, branding it nothing more than an overinflated ego trip.

Speaking in an interview with SPM Buzz on Saturday, March 15, 2025, just hours after touching down in Kenya, the Netflix reality TV star remarked that Diamond carries an openly grandiose ego—one that constantly demands validation—which is why he repeatedly makes such audacious claims.

According to Zari, there is absolutely no truth in the notion that she is an easy conquest, as the ‘Baba Lao’ hitmaker boldly implied, and deep down, even he knows that too.

Yet, despite knowing better, he continues to peddle the narrative, simply because it strokes his ego.

“Diamond says whatever he feels like because it feeds his ego. Diamond has an ego, and it constantly needs to be fed. But it’s not about what he is saying—am I actually doing that? Is it true that he can win Zari back?” She shot back.

Zari went on to make it clear that, at the end of the day, she has no issue with Diamond, who also happens to be his baby daddy, making such remarks because, to her, it is more about him than it will ever be about her.

“So to me, I’m like, nah, that’s just your ego speaking, and I’m perfectly fine with that.”

Second Kenyan tour

The socialite and entrepreneur was speaking mere hours after arriving in the country in absolute style, making her grand entrance aboard a private jet.

This marks her second visit to Kenya this year, having previously been in the country on January 22, 2025, a trip during which she also brought along her son.

Immediately upon landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Zari was whisked away in a sleek, high-end Range Rover before later stepping out for media interviews, where she took a moment to express just how much she adores Kenya.

Balancing entrepreneurship

According to her, this visit is strictly business-related, and she has a number of ventures lined up—ones she sincerely hopes will unfold as planned.

However, when pressed on whether she finds it challenging to juggle her ever-expanding entrepreneurial empire with the equally demanding role of motherhood, she admitted that striking that balance is no easy feat, but she somehow manages to hold it all together through prayer.

In her words, prioritising different aspects of her life—whether it be family, business, or personal commitments—has been key in maintaining some level of equilibrium, though it remains a work in progress.

“It is difficult. As a human being, I definitely run into challenges here and there, but I’ve learnt to prioritise what demands my attention at any given moment. If it’s my children, I pour my focus into them. If I need to be in Nairobi and everything in South Africa is running smoothly, then I come to Nairobi. But most importantly, I put God first—when I have a project, I ask Him to guide me, and somehow, everything falls into place.”
