TikTokers raise Ksh5M in 48 hours for Brian Chira’s burial ceremony
Late TikToker Brian Chira’s funeral fundraiser has raised Ksh5 million, 48 hours after it was launched.
The fundraiser being led by fellow TikToker Baba Talisha attracted various users who contributed to the course to accord the content creator a decent send-off.

The latest comes after the family asked Kenyans to help them bury their kin.
“Tushirikiane pamoja, if you guys can focus if you love Chira, Brian Chira is gone, ata kama alikua ni rival wako Chira was a good guy. Do anything you can to help the family and make this go through, najua wengi wanaumwa kama mimi but all is well, we have to trust God,” the family said.
Brian Chira’s send-off
According to an update shared by Baba Talisha, Chira will be laid to rest in Githunguri, Kiambu county on March 26, 2024.
Baba Talisha also announced that the departed TikToker will be buried in a graduation gown in honour of his grandmother’s request.
“Shosho alisema Chira atazikwa na gown, graduation gown. Chira was very bright in school,” he added.
He also announced that Kenyans interested in sending off Chira were welcome to attend the funeral and that those who wanted to view his body were welcome to view his body at the Kenyatta Funeral Home.
The content creator, however, cautioned that there would be no other opportunity to view the body once it leave the mortuary.
“The burial date will be March 26, and the funeral will be held in Githunguri where his grandmother has been staying,” Baba Talisha revealed.
A section of celebrities including musician Otile Brown and KRG the Don have also joined in to support Chira’s family by covering for his funeral expenses.
Otile offered to perform at Chira’s burial ceremony whereas KRG offered to cover Chira’s burial costs.
How Brian Chira died
The late Chira died in a hit-and-run incident after sustaining serious head injuries.
Before the unfortunate incident, Chira had visited a bar in the Gacharae area where he was kicked out after causing commotion.
He then headed home on a motorcycle, however, as he alighted at his destination, a speeding lorry knocked him over and fled the scene.
Police arrived at the scene and moved his body to City Mortuary before it was later transferred to the Kenyatta Funeral Home by his family.
Addressing the media, the family stated that they moved the body to the KU mortuary because it was closer to his grandmother’s Githunguri home where he will be interred.
