‘Kama ukona mtu, celebrate them now’ – Shatta bway says as he remembers late wife on Valentine’s Day

Media personality Steve Jacob Maunda popularly known as Shatta Bway has celebrated his late wife this Valentine’s Day with an emotional tribute.
Taking to his Instagram account on Friday, February 14, 2025, Shatta, shared heartfelt words for his late wife, reflecting on their last date together after she was discharged from the hospital.
Reminiscing on a bittersweet moment of remembrance for his late wife, Shatta bway encouraged others to cherish their loved ones and celebrate them while they still can.
“You had just been discharged from the Hospital and we decided to have a stopover before Heading Home!!! If Only I knew this would be our last date. We would never have left that table!! Happy Heavenly Valentine My Love…Kama ukona mtu celebrate them now we surely live on borrowed time!!” Shatta Bway said.
The Valentine’s Day tribute is a deeply emotional moment for the father of two, who continues to honour the love he shared with his late wife.

Shatta keeping wife’s memory
In a deeply emotional gesture, Shatta cut one of his locks during his wife’s burial on July 1, 2023, symbolizing the closure of a significant chapter in his life a moment he hopes to carry with him forever.
The media personality had the dreadlock cut in front of his family, friends and colleagues who attended the burial of his late wife, Rebecca.
Speaking during the event, Shatta said that this was part of the promise he had made to his wife when she was alive.
According to Shatta, having to bury the love of his life was the beginning of him fulfilling the promise he had made her.
“Nilimwambia, siku moja nikipata a worth course nitakuwa nakata nywele moja-moja to make sure I never forget the event, and the event that I promised to start with her,” Shatta Bway said.
With the promise fulfilled, the radio presenter then placed the lock on his late wife’s coffin, asking her to go well as he embarks on a new chapter without her.

Shatta also used the opportunity to reassure his late wife of taking care of the children she left behind.
In his speech, he promised to have them raised in the best possible way not forgetting to appreciate her for a job well done, as a single father, Shatta was seen comforting his kids during the funeral, ensuring they were not alone at any given moment.
Upon completing his speech, Shatta poured his heart out to the late Rebecca thanking her for making him a happy man and a father.
