Parts of Kitisuru and Karen among Nairobi areas to face 8-hour power outage Thursday, September 24

Parts of Kitisuru and Karen are among the areas set to experience an electricity interruption on Thursday, September 24, 2026, as Kenya Power carries out planned power maintenance.
According to a notice issued by Kenya Power, the scheduled maintenance will affect selected parts of several counties, with most of the listed areas expected to experience an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
“Good evening, please find the areas scheduled for power maintenance tomorrow, Thursday 24th September 2026,” Kenya Power said on Wednsday, September 23,2026.
Here is the list of specific areas set to be affected by the planned power outage.
Nairobi
In the Nairobi region, the 9:00 am to 5:00 pm blackout will affect residents in parts of Kitisuru and Karen.
In Kitisuru the affected areas include Tate Close, Kitsuru Road, Forward Close and adjacent customers.
While in Karen, the affected areas include Ololua Close, West Wood Road, Kerapon Road, Mwitu Estate, Mutero PCEA, Mutero Estates, Karen Police Station, Karen Hub, Windy Ridge, Ngong View Estate, Karen Roses, Tree Lane, Shell Petrol Station Karen Shopping Centre, Kerarapon Shell, Eagles Church, Karen Community Church, Total Petrol Station and adjacent customers.
Kajiado County
Parts of Kajiado County will also be affected from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, including part of Kajiado Town, Saab Royale, Suguna Farm, Oloosuyian, Referral Road, Showground, Esokota, Osilingi Farm, Kipeto, Jua Kali, East Matt and Urban, together with adjacent customers.
Kericho and Narok
In parts of Bureti, Kericho County, affected areas include Ngoina Road Market, Kabartega School, Kaminjeiwet School, Botony School and the DC Residence, alongside adjacent customers. The interruption is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In parts of Ololunga and Mulot, Narok County, the affected areas include Ololunga Town, Megenyu Market, Oleshapani Market, Sogam Market, Nkorinkori Market, Lemek Market, Aitong Market, Sogoo Market, Tendwet Market, Kimogoro Market, Mulot Market, Baraka Market, Kipturgut Market, Kutete Market, Olmirani Market, Olchoro Market and Melelo Market, alongside adjacent customers from 9:00 am to 5:00pm.
Nyeri County
Similarly, the 9:00 am to 5:00 pm blackout in Nyeri County will affect several residents.
In Gatarakwa Girls and Bellevue, affected areas include Kabendera Primary School, Kabendera Market, Bellevue Market, Gatarakwa Market and Gatarakwa Girls, alongside adjacent customers.
The Chaka and Kihanjo areas will also be affected, including Chaka Market, Kiganjo Cereals, Kiganjo Shopping Centre, Maisha Maize Millers and Kiganjo KCC.
In Blue Valley and Witemere, affected areas include PGH Incinerator, Blue Valley Affordable Housing, Witemere Estate and Waibochi Farm.
Kiambu County
The 9:00 am to 5:00 pm planned power outage will also affect parts of Kiambu county.
In Ndumbuini and part of Kinoo 87, affected areas include Ndumbuini Market, UON Kabete Vet, Uthiru 87, Uthiru Girls, Njathaini, Kanyariri Market and Kanyariri Police, alongside adjacent customers.
In Kimende and Kinale, the affected areas include Rukuma, Kambaa, Kimende, Magina, Carbacid Factory, Maingi, Kinale, Soko Mjinga, Kirasha, Sulmac and Kwa Edward.
The Bob Harries Road and Mangu Road areas will also experience an interruption. Listed areas include Mungetho, Kiaora Farm, Mtaro Farm, Azania Coffee Farm, Everflora Farm, Diana Farm, Mashule Estate, Karakuta Coffee Estate, Kwa Ndumbe Market, Mutuma Market, Gitatuiya, Mangu Market, Igegania Market, St Francis Mangu Girls, Kairi Market, Kagabwa, St Anne High School, Makwa Coffee Farm, Mwea Police, Oriti Coffee Estate, Kigio Village, Kihenia Farm, Runyua Farmers, Gatukuyu Market, Karibaribi, Kirika Farm, Uzima Centre, Bubbles, Maryhill Girls and Eaagads Farm.
Mombasa County
Parts of Bamburi, Utange and Kiembeni will also be affected. The listed areas include Utange, Masai Utange, Joho Secondary School, Utange Gorofani, Afro Estate, Nimrod Taabu, Wema Centre, Palestina, Bamburi Kiembeni Junction, Pretro City, Bamburi Mwisho, Stage ya Paka, Kerav Estate, Lake View, Bashir, Bustani Estate, Nairobi Estate, Naivas Bamburi, Masters, Kadzandani, Matingasi, Fisheries, Alfa Hospital and Kenya Projects, alongside adjacent customers.
The affected areas are scheduled for power interruptions between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
