Shiru Wa GP reveals the special way she celebrated Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day, while popularly known for celebrating love and romantic relationships, can also be a special occasion to bond, play, and reconnect with one’s children, as demonstrated by the inspiring story of revered Kikuyu gospel singer Shiru Wa GP.

While many were out popping champagne and exchanging flowers, the “Mucamo” hitmaker was busy playing football with her children outside her expansive mansion.

In a video she shared on her TikTok page on Sunday, February 15, 2026, she is seen looking radiant as she run after the ball and as she made attempts to kick it toward her children as though she were a seasoned professional player.

At one point, she is seen dancing amid the football match, and her children also joined in, turning the playful moment into a lively, laughter-filled scene.

At the end, she looked exhausted, but it was after a refreshing and energising session.

She expressed excitement about how it had all turned out, and while posting the video, she asked her fans to also share how they had spent their Valentine’s Day.

“How was your Valentine’s Day also?” she wrote.

Shiru’s best friend’s death

This is arguably the first time the singer is making a proper return to the headlines, months after she went viral following the death of her best friend and fellow gospel singer, Betty Bayo.

One of the most recent developments was her revelation that Betty Bayo’s ambassadorial contract under Sarah Mtalii’s company will continue even after the singer’s passing.

In a statement shared on her Facebook page on Saturday, November 15, 2025, Shiru disclosed that a meeting held between herself, company CEO Sarah Mtalii, and lawyer Mwenda Njagi resulted in an agreement that Betty’s contract will not be terminated despite her sudden passing.

“Betty Bayo was a brand ambassador at Virtuous Explorers. Following yesterday’s meeting with Virtuous Explorers CEO Sarah Mtalii and Wakili Mwenda Njagi, it was agreed that Betty Bayo’s contract with Virtuous Explorers will continue even after Betty’s sudden demise,” Shiru wrote.

The ‘Mugaruri’ hitmaker explained that Betty, who served as a brand ambassador for the company, had built a strong professional relationship with Mtalii, who has now committed to extending the contract in honour of the late gospel minister.

According to Shiru, once Betty Bayo is laid to rest, her widower Tash and Pastor Kanyari, who is Betty’s former husband and father of her two children, will sit down with the company to negotiate a new contract extension.

She noted that the intention behind the renewed deal is to ensure continued income flow for Sky Victor and Dany, the children Betty leaves behind.

“After we lay our sister Betty Bayo, thereafter, Tash and Pastor Kanyari will meet with Virtuous Explorers to negotiate a new contract extension for Sky Victor in honor of Betty Bayo, which will secure Sky Victor’s and Dany’s future,” Shiru added.
