Reverend Lucy Natasha and Prophet Stanley Carmel explain how they met
Reverend Lucy Natasha and her husband, Prophet Stanley Carmel, have for the first time opened up in detail about their love story, a journey that began with a prayer, a direct message, and an unwavering persistence that lasted nearly two years.
Speaking during an interview with Oga Obinna TV Extra on Monday, November 4, 2025, the couple shared how their paths crossed in the most unexpected way, revealing that their relationship was founded not on charm or chance, but on faith, patience, and shared purpose.

According to Prophet Carmel, their story began in India, where he first saw Reverend Natasha preaching during a meeting hosted by a film director.
“I saw her in India; she was preaching for a film director during a meeting. After the meeting, the lady of the house showed me a short clip of her preaching, and when I saw it, I said, ‘This is not just revelation; this is my destiny.’”
Convinced that God had shown him his future partner, Carmel decided to reach out to her on Instagram prayerfully.
“I slid into her DMs prayerfully. I prayed that she would see it because she has so many followers. She saw the DM but never replied. I messaged her several times and got no response. It took almost two years, but I was very patient.”
Despite the silence, Carmel says he never gave up, believing that his persistence was divinely inspired.
Reverend Natasha also shared her side of the story, admitting that Carmel’s approach was different from the usual messages she received.
“He did not just slide into my DMs with pick-up lines but with prayers and encouragement. So I was like, ‘Who is this guy who is so consistent and so up-to-date with everything I’m doing?”
After a while, Natasha says she began to notice Carmel’s consistency and sincerity, which eventually piqued her curiosity.
“After some time, I also developed an interest. So I sent him a message saying, “I’ll get your number,” and he sent it immediately, she laughed. “Then I called.”
Call that changed everything
At the time, Reverend Natasha was deeply involved in charity work during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She had just expanded her ministry’s outreach to North India, and Carmel offered to support her initiatives.
“We had just started doing charity work in Punjab, North India. He told me he wasn’t from North India but from the South, and he wanted to partner with us. He said, ‘I love what you are doing, and I believe in your ministry.’”
Initially, their interactions were purely ministry-related, a collaboration driven by shared faith and compassion.
“It wasn’t about love at first,” Natasha clarified. “He never told me he loved me. It was just encouragement and prayer. So when he called, I didn’t even know what to say. I just told him to pray, and he prayed.”
From prayers to love
Prophet Carmel recalls that their conversations quickly grew deeper as they continued to pray together daily.
“The second day, she called, and we prayed again,” he said. “On the third day, I called her ‘baby Tasha’, and she said, ‘You can call me baby Tasha; that’s cool.’ And that’s when I knew my prayer had been answered.”
From that moment, the connection blossomed into friendship, faith partnership, and eventually love, one built on mutual respect, shared spiritual vision, and divine timing.
