Obinna’s brother Lesley refutes claims viral ‘Hanna Benta’ episode was staged

The dashing brother of celebrated media personality Oga Obinna, Lesley Oyolla, has come out to shut down widespread rumours that one of their latest episodes—featuring popular TikTok creator Hanna Benta alongside her former co-wife Sabrina—was choreographed.
Speaking during an interview with KMS Media on the night of Sunday, May 11, 2025, Lesley spoke at length about the show and the specific episode, saying that people online will always find something to critique and firmly maintained that they did not in any way fabricate anything.
According to him, he was present when the show went down, and it was live, just like all the rest, and the fact that Hanna Benta is a sensational and polarising TikToker may be partly why the criticism has been unrelenting regarding the episode.
“There was an issue about an STI… Yeah, I was there when everything unfolded, and just like I was saying, with these kinds of things you never know what to expect. Plus, it is a live show—if it was edited, we’d have beeped certain things or scrapped some episodes altogether—but you don’t know what will happen in such live shows; it’s like democracy; it comes with both the good and the ugly.”

Lesley then defended the show from other accusations that they have become irrelevant because they have resorted to hosting TikTokers who are not widely admired, saying that those peddling such claims are also speaking from a place of personal bias and agenda.
According to him, every public figure is worth being featured on the show as they attract their own audience, and to always host politicians is not sensible because other public figures also exist and can drive them significant traffic just like those politicians.
“So you know, there are plenty of decisions like organising shows and paying staff and all that; these TikTokers, we host them because they’re massive on their platform and have huge followings, so it means we’ll also pull in traffic from their fans—maybe the person making that comment simply isn’t a fan of that specific TikToker, but someone else is; if you look at those interviews, they’ve got their own fanbase—it’s not about pleasing every single person, but at least everyone should find something they want to watch; if you’re waiting for a politician, they’ll come too, as will artists, and we’re also trying to bring professionals onto the show so we get every angle,” he said.
Co-Director
Lesley, who spoke with enthusiasm during the interview and who explained that being busy is the reason he has been away, also revealed that he has since risen to the position of co-director at the media personality’s show, ‘The Obinna Live’.
He spoke with joy about the role and shared that it is typically demanding, as it involves handling most of the managerial responsibilities, including ensuring employees are paid and confirming that all the behind-the-scenes arrangements are always in place before a show goes live.
“I’ve been at Obinna TV now for almost a year and have been behind the scenes as the co-director—sometimes there are misunderstandings with people, maybe a brand you were following lets you down, but it’s normal, and I don’t let it stress me; my name is Lesley Oyolla, I’m doing fine, things are flowing, and it’s about pushing forward—you can’t work and be talking all the time; I’ve been busy, that’s why I’ve been off social media and skipping media interviews.”
Lesley also confirmed that a fitness school business he recently launched is picking up well and also connected managing it to the reason he’s been absent from the public eye.
“The fitness school is doing really well, and I believe it’s going to be great—what I usually tell people in business is that since you already expect something to go wrong, when it does, don’t get used to staying stuck in the mud; don’t just sit there.”
Dr Ofweneke show
At the end of the short interview, Lesley also addressed his brother Oga Obinna’s recent dramatic walkout from Dr Ofweneke’s show after Ofweneke splashed water on him, saying that it is up to Ofweneke to make amends.
He dismissed the suggestion that Ofweneke may have intended the water-pouring incident as a joke, saying that the audience might have interpreted it differently than intended, and that Obinna may have genuinely felt humiliated by the incident.

“When you’re dealing with people, you also don’t know what to expect—you might think someone is joking when actually they’re serious; sometimes your jokes are not someone else’s—if Ofweneke did it jokingly, I don’t know, but that’s just how someone ends up being embarrassed.”
He added that such stunts are not usually in tune with their energy and, referencing himself, said that he gets angry when people also decide to pour water on him during his birthday because it doesn’t really show or express the affection they assume it conveys.
“Whatever he was trying to do is not aligned with our vibe—even for my birthday, I don’t entertain people drenching me with water—but it already happened, and it’s up to him.”
