Comedian Squiro sends plea to Kenyans after depression leaves him hospitalised

Comedian Squiro has sent an emotional plea to Kenyans after depression led to a fainting seizure that left him hospitalised for two days.
Speaking when YouTuber 2Mbili visited him in hospital on Monday, October 13, 2025, he revealed that the sudden episode had left him scared and disoriented and that waking up in hospital was a shocking moment he could not have anticipated.
“At that moment, I felt my head spinning, and I did not know what was happening. I also had a fever, and my body was being given fluids. I appreciate 2Mbili for coming to see me here at the hospital,” he said.
Burglary
Squiro lamented how life had become difficult for him, recalling how a recent burglary at his home had left him traumatised.
He recounted that the thieves had stolen many of his valuable belongings, including a camera gifted by Lynn Ngugi, his phone, cooking gas, shoes, and furniture. He said he had only managed to replace a sofa set and was still without a proper bed, adding that the ordeal had compounded his stress and worsened his health.
“A few days before, my house had been broken into, and I never fully recovered from that. I even had to buy a sofa set because everything else was stolen, and I do not even have a proper bed,” he added.
He shared that the fainting episode happened while he was performing a routine task at home, fetching water.
Upon returning, he felt dizzy and collapsed, but thankfully fell where someone could see him. Squiro added that if he had collapsed inside his home, where he lives alone, the outcome could have been far worse.
“I want to tell Kenyans that this sickness was unexpected. I suddenly found myself here, and I did not know how I got here. Even the doctor told me that my neighbour had brought me in. I had gone outside to fetch water, and on returning, I felt dizzy and collapsed. Thankfully, I fell where someone could see me. If I had collapsed inside my house, where I live alone, it could have been much worse,” Squiro said.

He explained that he had been receiving fluids at the hospital and was still recovering physically, emphasising the seriousness of his condition.
“I have been in hospital for two days, still receiving treatment, and I am gradually recovering. The thieves took a lot from me, including a camera gifted by Lynn Ngugi, my phone, cooking gas, shoes, and other belongings. Even now, I am still struggling.”
His doctor, who also spoke during the visit, confirmed that stress had significantly affected Squiro’s health.
The medical professional said that while stress was troubling the comedian greatly, the material losses he had suffered were not a medical concern and could be replaced gradually.
“This young man appears to be under a lot of stress. Stress is affecting him greatly, but I am not concerned about the items he lost, they can be replaced gradually,” the male doctor said during the visit.
