Celebrated Tanzanian gospel singer Bahati Bukuku has extended a heartfelt gesture to Kenyan artiste Stephen Kasolo, offering to embrace him as a foster son while praising his resilience as an orphan.

The gospel star made the remarks during the release of their new collaboration Yesu Nitetee, on Friday, August 5, 2025, a song she believes will be a blessing to listeners across the region.

Bukuku said she was moved by Kasolo’s story and his journey in the gospel industry, and she felt compelled to take a maternal role in his life as a sign of support and encouragement.

“My name is Pastor, or if you prefer, gospel singer Bahati Bukuku. I am a mother who is saved and who loves Jesus, but today I welcome you to listen to our brand new song that I have done in collaboration with Stephen Kasolo. We truly believe this song will be a blessing. More than anything, I ask you to share the song with your neighbour because Kasolo is an orphan, but I call him the orphan of the nation,” she said.

She noted that while Kenya has women who have previously stood by him, she now wants Tanzania, too, to be counted as having a mother figure for the young artiste.

Bukuku also urged fans to share the new song widely, not only as a message of faith but also as a show of solidarity with Kasolo.

“I have heard that in Kenya, he already has a mother who supports him, and now I also offer myself. So even in Tanzania, he now has a mother,” she added.

She described him as a remarkable talent whose strength and determination in life deserved recognition and care.

She further acknowledged the contribution of their producer, crediting him for giving life to the project.

“But do not let pride take over, because God does not like pride. I am also very happy with our producer who recorded this song, because he is a very important person,” she added.

On his part, Kasolo expressed deep gratitude, saying the collaboration marked the fulfilment of a lifelong dream.

He recalled that it had always been his desire to sing alongside Bukuku, and he considered their new release a milestone in his career. He added that hearing her publicly accept him as a son filled him with pride and a renewed sense of belonging.

“Truly, I am an orphan, the orphan of the nation, but I need the mercy of heaven. Mama, I am grateful to have worked with you, and my lifelong dream has finally come true. I always wished to sing with you, and now it has happened.”

Kasolo also appealed to fans to subscribe and support their joint effort, stressing that Yesu Nitetee carried a powerful message of hope and faith.

“When you said you would be my mother, I even felt proud. I also urge people not to forget to subscribe and support our song Yesu Nitetee.”
