Kamba gospel singer Stephen Kasolo has opened up about the lessons he learned during his time in jail, sharing insights on humility, life, and faith following his release on 6th March 2025.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, March 7, 2026, Kasolo said the experience began with a stark warning from the prison chief on the day of his release.

“Before I left, the chief of the prison told me, ‘Young man, do not think you are above this place; anyone can end up here,’” Kasolo recalled.

He explained that the warden highlighted three places no one should ever think they are too good to avoid: the prison, a hospital, and a mortuary.

“The first is prison, which anyone can enter if they make mistakes or break the law. The second is a hospital, and the third is the mortuary. The point is that in life, no one is immune from misfortune, and even your loved ones can be affected,” Kasolo said.

The singer emphasised that this advice was not meant to scare him but to instil a sense of humility and awareness.

“So in life, you should not laugh at someone else because everyone is vulnerable. Life’s challenges can reach anyone, including you or your family,” he said.

Kasolo also reflected on the personal growth he experienced while in confinement. He said he used the time for learning and reflection, reading widely and gaining new perspectives.

“I thank God that I came out unharmed. I read a lot while I was there, and I learned many valuable lessons,” he said, adding that the experience strengthened his faith.

The singer concluded with a note of gratitude and devotion, calling for mindfulness and humility in everyday life.

“This life is in God’s hands. We should live carefully, stay humble, and value what we have,” Kasolo said.

Message to adopted mum

Elsewhere, the musician shared a heartfelt post expressing deep gratitude to the woman who adopted him, Mama Tabitha, whom he described as a guiding light throughout his life.

In a moving prayer shared on Facebook on Thursday, March 5, 2026, the ‘Kitole’ hitmaker called Mama Tabitha his source of protection and guidance.

He reflected on moments of darkness in his life, saying that God sent Mama Tabitha as a light to guide him through difficult times.

“My mother, my mother, God protect her. When I faced darkness, God brought Mama Tabitha as a light,” Kasolo wrote.

He emphasised the deep bond they share, noting how people may not realise that he is her adopted son, but their strong resemblance makes their connection even more special.

He further prayed for her well-being, asking God to watch over her and expressing the gratitude he feels for having her in his life.

“In this world, the one to be celebrated is God. God bless Mama Tabitha. Shine does not even know that I am Mama Tabitha’s adopted son, because we look so much alike,” Kasolo added.
