By Paul Njau,

Education Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), Zack Kinuthia, found himself on the wrong side of boda boda riders after he criticized Deputy President William Ruto at a safety training in Ndumberi, Kiambu County.

On Monday morning, Kinuthia wanted to take advantage of the training for boda boda operators to discuss politics but the motorcyclists would have none of it.

The Education CAS’s ill-timed attempt to criticize DP Ruto so early in the safety training was met with defiant resistance from the boda boda riders.

Kinuthia had accused Ruto of disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta when the boda boda riders interjected, telling the CAS to stick to the day’s agenda.

The boda boda safety training exercise is being conducted countrywide in a joint operation by the National Government through the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Services, county governments and National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).

The training kicked off on Monday, February 15, in Kiambu, Kajiado and Machakos counties.

At Kiambu County, the training exercise was launched by ICT Secretary Joe Mucheru while at Machakos his Public Service counterpart, Prof Margaret Kobia represented the government.
