Inspiring: Octopizzo showers Ida Odinga with praise after meeting

Kenyan rapper Octopizzo has showered praise on Ida Odinga, describing the Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as a leader whose warmth, wisdom and encouraging spirit continue to inspire those who interact with her.
In a statement shared on his X account on Monday, August 4, 2026, the rapper spoke fondly about the veteran educationist and diplomat.
“It is always a pleasure engaging with Min Piny, Ida Odinga, Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP),” Octopizzo wrote.
The celebrated musician did not stop at acknowledging her position. He painted a picture of a leader who leaves people feeling uplifted after every conversation, saying her humility and positive attitude stand out.
“Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering positivity always wearing a smile and offering words of encouragement that remind us of the power of servant leadership. Conversations with her are always enriching and motivating,” he stated.
The rapper, who has increasingly taken part in public conversations beyond music, has in recent months been engaging with leaders and community figures as he expands his role in civic affairs.

Ida Odinga is one of Kenya’s most respected public figures. Before taking up her diplomatic role, she built a long career as an educator and has been involved in community development, women’s empowerment and environmental advocacy for decades. She has also worked through the Ida Odinga Trust, which focuses on education and nutrition initiatives across Africa.
Earlier this year, Parliament approved her appointment as Kenya’s Permanent Representative to UNEP after vetting her suitability for the position. During the process, she pledged to strengthen Kenya’s climate diplomacy, promote partnerships that benefit vulnerable communities and support the implementation of environmental resolutions adopted by the United Nations Environment Assembly.
She also highlighted Kenya’s unique position as the host country of UNEP headquarters in Nairobi, saying the country has an opportunity to strengthen its leadership in global environmental governance.
As Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to UNEP, Ida Odinga represents the country’s interests at the UN environmental agency, engages in multilateral diplomacy and works with member states and international partners on issues such as climate change, environmental conservation and sustainable development.
