11 children injured after school bus overturns in Mbooni

A school bus transporting children was involved in a road accident on Saturday, November 23, near Kikima Market in Mbooni Sub-County, Makueni County.

According to a statement shared by the Kenya Red Cross, the incident occurred when the bus, which was carrying students, overturned, trapping some of the passengers inside.

The humanitarian authority reported that 11 pupils were injured and rushed to Mbooni Level 4 Hospital.

“A school bus carrying children has been involved in a road accident near Kikima Market, Mbooni Sub County, Makueni. Children trapped in the overturned bus are being rescued by response teams led by the county government. Updates to follow,” Kenya Red Cross announced.

Adding;

“11 children sustained injuries and have been taken to Mbooni Level 4 Hospital. No fatalities have been reported.”
