Ruto donates Ksh50M for church building project
President William Ruto has donated Ksh50 million to the African Divine Church Service for the construction of their headquarters in Vihiga County.
Speaking on Sunday, November 2, 2025, during a church service, Ruto noted that the Ksh50 million contribution will supplement the Ksh20 million raised by church members to facilitate the completion of the Ksh80 million project.
“When I was here, you told me that you wanted to build a cathedral, which would be your headquarters. At that time, we were told that it was going to be a small church, so we gave out three million first, but you said that you wanted a bigger church,” Ruto said.

According to the Head of State, the clergy of the church have already explained to him that the new facility will have various facilities, such as conference halls and offices, among other amenities.
“Your clergy came to my office and told me that the Ksh3 million we had given was not enough, so you wanted an additional Ksh50 million for it to be Ksh80 million, and I agreed. And last week I sent Ksh50 million,” he added.
Mudavadi tops up
On their part, the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi, and other local leaders will also contribute the remaining Ksh10million funds to see the timely completion of the project.

The contribution to the church continues despite a warning from the State to tighten laws due to claims that the funds are proceeds of graft or their sources are questionable.
Ruto said once the church is complete, he will personally go to see its opening, adding that the move was motivated by the close relationship he has with the church and its clergy, who have been supporting him and his administration ever since he took office.
At the same time, the President donated a brand-new vehicle, which will be used by the ADC’s bishop in his ministry.
“As you all know, this church and the clergy of this church are very good friends of mine. It is not my first time being in this church. I have always been with you, and you have always been there for me, especially when I needed friends,” Ruto said.
