The surprise moment came at the wedding reception, which was perfectly mellowed by a violin before other people joined in unison with a hearty chorus of “Happy Birthday, to you !”
Led by his wife, former First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, the room burst into song as the visibly delighted Uhuru chuckled, slightly blushing but joining in with the crowd.
Friends and relatives, including Muhoho Kenyatta, made merry with the former president cutting a cake to mark the joyous occasion and step into the next year of his life.

The venue was tastefully decorated in gold and white colours with golden lights that set the tone for the wedding, at which Uhuru ended up stealing the show.
The man of the moment stepped out in a blue shirt with African print and black pants. Uhuru appeared relaxed and cheerful as he greeted guests one by one. Margaret, graceful as ever in a simple but elegant dress, stood by his side, smiling proudly as she clapped along to the music.
