Sudi on govt’s commitment
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) lawmaker further noted that President William Ruto’s administration had vowed to end mysterious killings and that it has made great steps.
However, he argued that there are a few weak links taking the government back.
“This administration vowed to end mysterious killings and has made great steps, but it seems there are a few weak links taking us back. I offer my sincere condolences to Ojwang’s family and pray that God gives them strength,” Sudi stated.

Sudi joins several other lawmakers who have called for urgent and swift investigations into the death of Ojwang.
Obara’s appeal
Kabondo Kasipul MP Eve Akinyi Obara has also issued a passionate call for justice after the tragic death of Ojwang.
Ojwang died under disturbing circumstances while in police custody at the Central Police Station in Nairobi, sparking outrage.

In an official letter dated Monday, June 9, 2025, Obara called on key oversight and human rights bodies such as the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ), the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR), and other relevant investigative agencies to launch a thorough and independent investigation into the incident.
The MP said that Ojwang had died at the hands of those who were duty-bound to protect his life, adding that it was not just a tragedy but also a breach of trust and a failure of justice.
“It is with deep sorrow, profound sadness, and outrage that we mourn the tragic and highly suspicious death of Albert Omondi Ojwang, a 31-year-old teacher, online commentator, and promising young man from Kokwanyo Kakelo Ward, Kabondo Kasipul Constituency, who died under disturbing circumstances while in police custody at Central Police Station in Nairobi,” Obara wrote.
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MPs led by Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo have also called for urgent action.
