Ruto on Kenyans’ concerns
Omtatah’s sentiments come after Ruto admitted that listening to citizens’ views is a full-time occupation of leadership.
Speaking during the State of the Nation address on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in parliament, Ruto, disclosed that he has learnt through the hard way that all questions raised by the people must be answered in detail.
He further emphasised the importance of involving the people in the projects aimed at the country’s transformation.
“We have learnt, through the hard as well as more customary ways, that listening is a full-time occupation of leadership, and that all questions asked by the people must be answered thoroughly and in full. We have learnt never to take anything for granted, and make every effort to carry all our people along with us in our pursuit of our transformation,” Ruto said.
In addition, the Head of State noted that he would be responding to the pressing issues raised by Kenyans in recent months in the national address.
Meanwhile, Ruto added that the concerns voiced by Kenyans about the state of the nation deserve meaningful engagement.
“I desire to respond to the most pressing concerns that have been raised by Kenyans of all walks of life in recent months,”
“To my understanding, the concerns and issues voiced by millions of Kenyans about the state of our nation deserve meaningful engagement, thorough understanding and thoughtful response,” he added.
