Mbote Njogu overwhelmed with emotion as content creator Komanda surprises him with birthday cake
Popular Kikuyu content creator Mbote Njogu was left emotional after fellow content creator and gospel singer Njoki Wa Ndegwa, popularly known as Komanda, surprised him with a belated birthday celebration days after his special day had passed.
In a video shared on TikTok on Thursday, June 4, 2026, Komanda organised a heartfelt surprise for Mbote, presenting him with a birthday cake, flowers and a money bouquet in a gesture that visibly touched the content creator.

Speaking during the surprise celebration, Mbote expressed his gratitude to Komanda, noting that she was the only person who had gone out of her way to celebrate him after his birthday had already passed.
“So guys, Komanda surprised me and she is the only person who surprised me and has waited a few days after my birthday passed. And now because of that I also want to make a promise to her,” Mbote added.
He revealed that Komanda’s thoughtful gesture had inspired him to make a promise to her in return, showing how much he appreciated her effort.
“She has brought me a cake and flowers and this same place where she has brought me those things is the same place where we first met,” the creator said.
Mbote pointed out that the celebration was held at the exact location where they first met, making the surprise even more meaningful and nostalgia.
“And the cake she brought is so good and alongside that she also brought me a money bouquet,” he shared.
He praised the gifts Komanda brought, specifically mentioning the cake and the money bouquet, which added to the special nature of the celebration.
The surprise was made even more meaningful by the fact that it was held at the very location where the two creators first met and began discussing their content creation journeys.
Genuine appreciation
On her part, Komanda explained that her actions were motivated by genuine appreciation for Mbote and the role he played in supporting and encouraging her career.
“And I have done all this for you because I don’t want to show off. People should not look at it like that,” she said.
Komanda clarified that the surprise was not meant to attract attention or show off, but was instead a sincere expression of gratitude.
“But I have gone all out for Mbote because I appreciate that he also lifted me up,” she added.
She explained that she organised the celebration because Mbote had supported and encouraged her, helping her grow in her career.
“And I remember well that we started our first meeting on the content we would be doing here and that’s how we started out,” Komanda said.
Komanda recalled that the same venue was where they first discussed content creation ideas and began their journey together.
“I remember it is this same place that Mbote told me that I could be good if I started playing the role of a house help in our acting together,” she added.
