Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) Deputy Leader Cleophas Malala has weighed in on the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, asserting that the man has become a better person since his removal from office.

In a rare praise to his party leader, Malalah stated that Gachagua should consider his ouster as a blessing in disguise.

“You have to be thankful that you got impeached. It was a blessing in disguise. I’ve been wondering if we were still in this government, I as secretary general and you as DP, what would we have advised or helped Ruto with? Perhaps, maybe, he needs to engage in a factory setting in his administration. But I would advise him to get himself out of the office,” he stated.

Malalah further cited what he termed as the growing acceptance of the DP while referencing the opposition party’s recent trip to the western region by the opposition leaders.

“Gachagua is a special human being who has taken all the blame heaped on him to make himself better. He was in government, and after he was ousted, he went back to Wamunyoro, and now Wamunyoro is famous across the country, even more than Sugoi. Yesterday, he was in western and he is the only leader the people can listen to,” he stated.

Malalah’s sentiments come after MP Peter Salaysa also recently weighed in on the former deputy president’s impeachment back in 2024.

Speaking during an interview with Oga Obinna on Monday night, June 30, 2025, Salasya said that during his tour in Juja, Kiambu County, while promoting his presidential bid, he told residents that the separation of President William Ruto and Gachagua was the greatest thing that had ever happened, describing it as a blessing for Kenyans.

He added that, had the split not occurred, Kenya would have plunged into deeper trouble.

“I told people of Juja when I was in Githurai that the separation of Ruto and Gachagua was the best thing that ever happened, it was a blessing to Kenyans because if it could not have happened, Kenya ingezama,” Salasya claimed.
