Kenya Power lists parts of Nairobi to experience outage on Monday, November 3

Kenya Power has announced that several parts of Nairobi will experience a temporary power outage on Monday, November 3, 2025, to allow for essential maintenance on its electricity distribution network.
In an update released on Sunday, November 2, 2025, the utility company said the planned power interruption will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will affect sections of Arwings Kodhek Road and its surrounding areas.
“Good evening. Please note that the following areas are scheduled for planned power maintenance tomorrow, 3rd November 2025,” Kenya Power wrote on X.
“Areas to be affected include part of Arwings Kodhek Road, Ralph Bunche Road, Nelson Awour Centre, Nairobi Hospital, Landmark Plaza, Lee Funeral Home, Upper Hill Medical Hospital, and the UN Dental School.”

Other affected locations are 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Ngong Avenues, The Chancery Building, Bishops Road, Sarova Panafric Hotel, Fairview Hotel, and adjacent customers.
The maintenance exercise is part of our ongoing efforts to improve the reliability and stability of the electricity supply within the Nairobi region.
Kenya Power emphasised that such scheduled maintenance activities are critical to ensuring consistent and safe electricity distribution, especially in high-demand urban areas.
The utility has urged customers in the affected zones to switch off electrical appliances during the outage as a safety precaution and to avoid potential damage when power is restored.

Areas affected on Sunday
Meanwhile, several parts of the country faced scheduled power interruptions on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
The company said the outages are necessary to allow maintenance work and improve service reliability. In a statement released early Sunday, Kenya Power apologised for the short notice.
“Good morning. We sincerely apologise for the late communication regarding today’s power maintenance. We understand that timely communication is important and regret any inconvenience this may have caused,” the utility firm stated.
For instance, in the Nairobi Region, two main areas were affected: parts of Karen and parts of Enterprise Road. Power in Karen will go off from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The affected areas include Karen Police, Tree Lane, St. Elizabeth Secondary, part of Windridge, Talisman, Asmara, Westwood, Ngong Dairy, Mwitu Estate, Mwitu Drive, Mutero Ridge, Mutero Rise, Mutero PCEA, Kerarapon Road, Gamoro Carwash, Eagle Church, Kerarapon Shell, Total Petrol Station Kerarapon, KCB Leadership Centre, Karen Community Church, Ngong View Estate, and all adjacent customers.
