Kenya Power lists parts of 7 counties to experience blackout on Monday, December 1
Kenya Power has issued a notice of scheduled power maintenance affecting parts of seven counties across the country on Monday, December 1, 2025.
In the notice issued on Sunday, November 30, 2025, the utility company said the planned maintenance is aimed at improving the reliability and safety of the electricity supply but will result in temporary blackouts in the listed areas.
North Rift Region
Two counties are set to be affected in the North Rift region.
In West Pokot County, Sigor, IPET, Tamkal, Chesta, Chesta Teachers College, Lomut Market, and surrounding customers will experience an outage from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Nandi County, Kamobo, Kapsasur, Surungai, Chepsonoi, Yala, Tindinyo, Kaimosi, Chepkumia, Bonjoge, Koibarak, and adjacent areas will be affected from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Still in Nandi County, Nandi Hills Town, Nandi Tea, Kipkimba, Bethesda Hospital, and surrounding customers will experience a blackout from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
South Nyanza Region
Nyamira County will be affected, with Matutu, Gesima, Mosebeti Market, Mochenwa Market, Matunwa Tea Factory, Esani Market, Enchoro Royal Media Transmitter, Nyokoria Market, and adjacent areas being hit by the blackout from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Mt. Kenya Region
Three counties will be affected in the Mt Kenya region.
In Nyeri County, Sasini, Njeng’u, Baraka Estate, Ex Pages, KWS Mweiga, Tree Tops, Waihenya Estate, Kihuyo, Maingirano, Nyarugumu, and surrounding areas will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Kirinyaga County, Karaini, Old Kangaita, Professor Mugera, Karaini Market, Kamuruana Village, Mutuma Village, Giatathe TBC, Kiranja Junction, Kangaita Tea Farm, and adjacent customers will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Kiambu County, part of Kenyatta Road, including Mama Ngina University, Ichaweri Village, Theta Tea Factory, Wangui Market, Kahata Village, Gatitu Mission, Gathiru Market, Kiganjo Market, Gatina Village, and nearby areas will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Coast Region
In the Coast region, Taita Taveta County will be affected. Mngama Primary School and surrounding customers are set to experience a blackout from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Kenya Power has urged customers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements and apologize for any inconvenience caused. Customers are also encouraged to report any faults or emergencies to Kenya Power’s 24-hour contact centers.
