Kenya Power blackout to affect parts of 4 counties on Saturday, October 25

Kenya Power has announced that several areas across four counties will experience a temporary blackout on Saturday, October 25, 2025, as the company undertakes scheduled maintenance works aimed at improving electricity supply and network stability.
In a statement on Friday, October 24, 2025, Kenya Power revealed that parts of Nairobi, Kisumu, Bungoma and Nyeri counties will be affected by the planned power interruptions, which are expected to last several hours within the day.
The utility firm assured customers that the maintenance exercise is necessary to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the national power grid.
In Nairobi County, the maintenance will take place between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m., affecting State House Road, part of Dennis Pritt, Kitale Lane, Likoni Lane, St. George’s School, Total Dennis Pritt, Royal Media, Shell Dennis Pritt, part of Cotton Avenue, Maalim Juma Road, part of Rose Avenue and adjacent customers.
“AREA: STATEHOUSE ROAD TIME: 9.00 Α.Μ. – 5.00 Ρ.Μ. Statehouse Rd, Part of Dennis Pritt, Kitale Lane, Likoni Lane, St. Georges Sch, Total Dennis Pritt, Royal Media, Shell Dennis Part, Part of Cotton Ave, Maalim Juma Rd, Part of Rose Ave & adjacent customers,” the Kenya Power statement read in part.
In Kisumu County, the outage will occur between 8.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m., affecting Masogo Market, Onyalobiro Biro, Ombei Market, Othoo Market, Nger Market, Ogilo and neighbouring areas.
Residents in Bungoma County, particularly those in Kapurengu, Chmoi, Lwandeti, Mayoyo, Maturu, Chekaline and adjacent areas, will experience an outage from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., while in Nyeri County, areas around Outspan Hospital and Pembe Tatu will also be affected during the same hours.

Kenya Power said the planned maintenance is part of its ongoing efforts to upgrade the network and prevent unplanned outages that often result from worn-out infrastructure.
The company urged customers in the affected regions to make the necessary arrangements.
