Kenya Power blackout to affect parts of 2 counties on Sunday, October 26

Kenya Power has announced a planned electricity interruption that will affect parts of Kajiado and Kakamega counties on Sunday, October 26, 2025, as part of routine maintenance work aimed at improving the stability and reliability of power supply.

In a notice issued on Saturday, October 25, 2025, the company stated that the maintenance exercise will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., during which several areas will experience temporary outages.

“Good evening. The following areas will be on planned power maintenance tomorrow,” Kenya Power wrote.

Kenya Power pointed out that in Kajiado County, the blackout will affect Kitengela and its surrounding areas, including Exotic Peninah, Enkasiti, Maasai Ostrich Farm, Riverine, Global Village, Alexander Forbes, Lake Oil Korompoi, Marvel Green, Succos, Kajiado East Technical, Archichem, Antilog, Jumbo Tank, Surge, Kreative Concrete and Moran Wires.

Exotic Peninah, Enkasiti, Maasai Ostrich Farm, Riverine, Global Village, Alexander Forbes, Lake Oil Korompoi, Marvel Green, Succos, Kajiado East Technical, Archichem, Antilog, Jumbo Tank, Surge, Kreative Concrete, Moran Wires,” the statement read in part.

It added that Tuffoam, Zenith Steel, Imara Steel, Kenturain, Eden Park, Kitengela Medical, St. Liliana, Kwa Chairman, Deliverance Road, Balozi Road, Baraka Road, Tropicana, Upper Valley, Chuna, Muigai, Utumishi, Quickmart, Safaricom 1 & 2, Police Sacco, Ola, New World, Korompoi, Maua Agritech, Desire Flora, Yash Poles, Hawa, Olturuto, Prayer Centre, Kisaju, Jamii Bora, Kenchic, Saris Quarry, Lucky Base, Acacia, Eden Park and adjacent customers will also be affected.

The company further stated that in Kakamega County, the planned power maintenance will affect Musaga area and its environs, including Shikoti Mission, Bishop Etemesi, Elukho Village, Emajembe and surrounding customers.

“PARTS OF KAKAMEGA COUNTY AREA: MUSAGA DATE: Sunday 26.10.2025 TIME: 9.00 Α.Μ. – 5.00 P.M Shikoti Mission, Bishop Etemesi, Elukho Village, Emajembe & adjacent customers,” the statement further read.

Kenya Power then urged residents and businesses in the affected areas to make the necessary arrangements in advance to minimise inconvenience during the maintenance period.

The company added that the planned works are part of ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of electricity distribution and reduce the frequency of unplanned outages across the country.
