Kalonzo mocks Ruto allies for pretending to be Raila’s closest friends
Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) leader Kalonzo Musyoka has mocked President William Ruto and his allies, accusing them of pretending to be close to Azimio leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking during a rally on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Kalonzo said some members of Ruto’s camp are now trying to act like Raila’s long-time friends, yet they have no real history or bond with him.

Kalonzo said he was surprised to see people who had previously opposed Raila suddenly identifying with him. He noted that his friendship with Raila spans more than fifteen years and that their political relationship is based on trust and shared values.

“Juzi nilikuwa Kisumu, Githinji anaenda kujifanya wao ndio marafiki wa Raila Odinga. Na hawajui mimi; miaka kumi na tano tumekuwa rafiki na Raila. Mimi nilifika kule, eti wanajifanya hao ndio wanajua Raila. Hata watu wa Kisumu walishangaa,” Kalonzo said.
Elsewhere, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has reacted to a viral photo of Kimani Ichung’wah wearing an ODM cap, calling on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to act decisively against Members of Parliament who are abandoning the party.
Isolated
The Wiper Patriotic Front leader went on to say that Ruto’s team is now feeling isolated and trying to seek relevance by associating with Raila. He added that even the people of Kisumu were shocked by the sudden change of tone from Ruto’s allies.
“Hata wao wanajua wamebaki pekee yao. Naskia mnamuita Githinji siku hizi. Kwa hivyo muangalieni,” Kalonzo said.
He further called on Kenyans to remain alert and not to be misled by individuals shifting political positions for their own interests. Kalonzo said the country’s youth, especially the Gen Z generation, are demanding a nation governed by justice and free from corruption.

“Wakenya, watoto wetu wa Gen Z wanataka nchi ambayo inatawaliwa na haki, nchi ambayo haina wafisadi,” he said.
Kalonzo also mentioned that some leaders within Ruto’s government were even planning to sell key national assets, including the airport, which he said was a sign of misplaced priorities.
“Juzi nikasema, hata uwanja wa ndege walikua wanataka kuuza,” Kalonzo said.
His remarks come at a time of increased political tension between the government and the opposition, with leaders from both sides trading accusations over corruption, governance, and loyalty to key political figures.
Kalonzo’s statement at the rally was seen as a reminder of his long-standing relationship with Raila Odinga and a direct message to Ruto’s allies, who are now trying to associate themselves with the late ODM leader.
