Kibra MP-elect Imran Okoth will be sworn in as the constituency’s representative to the National Assembly at 2:30pm on Tuesday, November 19.

The National Assembly Speaker, Justin Muturi, will preside over Okoth’s swearing-in.

Okoth emerged victorious on November 7 in a by-election that attracted 24 contestants.

The ODM candidate got 24, 636 votes against second-placed McDonald Mariga’s 11, 230. Mariga flew Jubilee Party’s flag in the mini-poll. Eliud Owalo of ANC came third with 5,275 votes.

The Kibra parliamentary seat fell vacant following the death of the then-holder, Ken Okoth, who succumbed to colorectal cancer on July 26.

Imran is Ken Okoth’s elder brother.
