Gachagua rolls into Boston with police chase car escort

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua made a conspicuous entrance in Boston during his USA tour, arriving at an event in a motorcade that featured high-end vehicles and a marked police chase car escort.
Footage shared by the Democratic for the Citizens’ Party (DCP) on its X account on July 21, 2025, captured Gachagua’s convoy pulling up to the venue, led by a police cruiser with its lights flashing.
He was received by a small group of supporters as onlookers recorded his arrival.
“Presidential Escort. This is not President Donald Trump. This is H.E Rigathi Gachagua in Boston, USA,” the caption on the party’s post read, drawing comparisons to the kind of security detail seen in presidential motorcades.
Gachagua’s US tour
Gachagua, who left Kenya on July 9, 2025, for a two-month tour of the United States, has been holding meetings with Kenyans across various states to discuss governance and the political direction of the country.
The July 21, Boston stop marked the launch of DCP’s second satellite office in the US, following an earlier one in Seattle, Washington.
In a statement following the launch, the party emphasised its commitment to engaging Kenyans in the diaspora.
“We are glad our party’s second satellite office in the USA has been officially opened by our Party Leader. Our commitment to listen to all Kenyans and restore our heritage remains firm. Thank you, Kenyans in Boston,” DCP stated.

Just a week earlier, on July 14, 2025, Gachagua had unveiled the party’s first diaspora office in Seattle, dubbed the North Pacific Chapter.
“DCP Party is now expanding its presence with our very first satellite office in Seattle. Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua officially inaugurated the North Pacific Chapter Satellite Office, marking a new milestone in our journey to connect and serve Kenyans across the region,” the statement read.
At the time, Gachagua mentioned that the new office would serve Kenyans in the greater Northwest Pacific region of North America.
“This new office will strengthen our efforts, foster greater engagement, and bring our initiatives closer to the people of Seattle and the surrounding areas. Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive future,” he added.
