Ezekiel Mutua prays for Kasmuel and Morara Kebaso

Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) CEO Ezekiel Mutua prayed for youth leaders Morara Kebaso and Kasmuel McOure, blessing their new union in politics as they join forces to champion change among Kenya’s young population.
Sharing the moment on his X account on Saturday, May 10, 2025, Mutua posted a photo of himself laying hands on the two leaders, praying for their renewed partnership.
“I was praying for Kasmuel McCoure and Morara Kebaso, then I was forgetting the name. He suddenly shouts in the middle of the prayer ‘Kasmuel!!” he wrote.
Kasmuel, Morara union
This comes after a surprising political twist where Morara and Kasmuel, once seen as estranged allies, announced they would work together.
The two spoke at a press briefing on Saturday attended by youth from various political backgrounds, signalling the start of a new youth-led political movement.
Morara, who leads the Inject Party, made it clear that this is not about political parties but a united front to challenge both the government and opposition.
He underscored the importance of collective dialogue and action, bringing together young people who have previously identified with various political outfits, including Jubilee, ODM, UDA, PPA, and Inject Party.
The movement, he explained, seeks to break free from what he described as the prison of corruption and political dishonesty, offering an alternative voice that prioritises integrity and accountability.
“We have come together to deliberate and think together,” Morara said.
Adding;
“First, let me make this clear: we come from different political parties — there are those from the Jubilee party, ODM, there are people who were previously from UDA, PPA party and Inject Party. We are here to discuss as young people to have a movement that can be an alternative to the corrupt government and crooked opposition. We want to break away from the prison,” he stated.
His remarks were echoed by Kasmuel, who reiterated the movement’s significance, calling the meeting a foundational step toward a larger goal.
He stressed that the youth bear a historic responsibility to reshape leadership in Kenya and that this gathering was just the beginning of an ongoing series of consultations and mobilisations.
“This marks the first of many consultative meetings among the youthful voices in leadership in our country, and we have gathered here because now more than ever we have a historic and monumental duty towards each other and to the nation, we get our leadership right,” Kasmuel stated.
The fall of Kasmuel
Kasmuel’s return to Morara’s side, however, has not been without controversy.
Once a highly respected youth activist, Kasmuel lost credibility among his supporters after joining the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). His political switch and his silence during a moment when Morara needed public support were seen as a betrayal.

Many young people unfollowed him on social media, reportedly cutting ties. Online hashtags like #UnfollowKasmuel and labels like sellout trended for days. During protests, he was even rejected by fellow youth activists, a moment that marked a sharp fall in his public standing.
In an emotional appeal on Friday, May 10, 2025, Morara took to X to ask young people to forgive the ODM youth leader.
“Please forgive Kasmuel McOure. Allow him and other leaders of the youth to retrace their steps and build the new Kenya we want. Mistakes are the road signs on the highway of success,” Morara pleaded.
