Kenya Power lists areas to experience electricity outages on Wednesday, August 5

Kenya Power has listed areas in five counties that will experience planned electricity interruptions on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
The utility company said the outages will be caused by network maintenance work.
“Good Evening, the listed areas will be under planned power maintenance tomorrow (5th August 2026). The interruption is part of network maintenance. We regret any inconvenience that may occur during the operations,” Kenya Power said in a post on X on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
The planned maintenance will affect customers in parts of Migori, Kiambu, Kitui, Nyeri and Uasin Gishu counties. The interruptions will take place at different times, with some areas expected to remain without power for up to nine hours.
Kenya Power said the planned interruptions are part of efforts to maintain the network. The company also apologised to customers who may be affected by the exercise.
Migori County
Parts of Migori County will experience a power interruption from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. The affected areas are listed as Kehancha, Taranganya and Ntimaru.
The areas expected to be affected are Kehancha Town, Ntimaru, Gwitembe, Kegonga, Getongoroma, Taranganya, Kobinto, Masangora, Komosimo, Carose, Senta, Komotobo, Matare, Maeta, Nyaroa, Komasicha, Komomwamu and adjacent customers.
Kiambu County
Customers in parts of Kiambu County will also experience a planned interruption on Wednesday. The affected areas are around Kagia Farm and Acre Tano, with the outage scheduled from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
The affected areas are Kagia Farm, Acre Tano, China Wu YI and adjacent customers.
Kitui County
In Kitui County, the planned power interruption will affect areas around Katse. The outage is scheduled to begin at 8.00 am and is expected to run until 5.00 pm.
The affected areas are Katse Market, Kimangao, Kimu, Maseki and adjacent customers.
Nyeri County
Several areas in Nyeri County will experience planned power interruptions on Wednesday. The first interruption will affect Iruri Market and Karandi Market, with the outage scheduled from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
The affected areas are Karandi Market, Iruri Market, Iruri Village, Iganjo Village, Mutaga Market, Safaricom Boosters, Airtel Boosters and adjacent customers. The affected areas are Githima Polytechnic, Juakali TBC, Zaina Village, Zaina Dispensary, Miagayuini Shopping Centre, Kanyinya Market and adjacent customers.
Uasin Gishu County
In the North Rift Region, customers around Soko and Tuiyo Village will experience a planned power interruption on Wednesday. The outage is scheduled from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
The affected areas are Tuiyo Village and adjacent customers. Kenya Power has always advised customers in the listed areas to take note of the scheduled maintenance and plan for the temporary interruptions.
