COVID-19 updates: Positivity rate now at 7.4% with 431 new cases

In the last 24 hours, Kenya recorded 431 new COVID-19 cases from a sample size of 5,846.

The positivity rate now stands at 7.4%.

Of these cases, 410 are Kenyans while 21 are foreigners, with 248 being males and 183 being females.

The youngest patient is a four-month-old baby while the oldest is 90 years old.

The cumulative tally of positive cases is now 169,356, from 1,792,939 tests done thus far.

31 patients have recovered from the disease with 23 from home-based and isolation care while eight are from various health facilities.

The total number of recoveries in the country stands at 115,844, with 84,251 from home-based and isolation care while 31,593 are from various health facilities.

10 patients have succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities to 3,097.

4,713 patients are currently on home-based isolation and care and another 1,103 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities

113 patients are in ICU, 24 of whom are on ventilatory support and 65 on supplemental oxygen. 24 patients are on observation.

Another 98 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with 91 of them in general wards and seven are in the High Dependency Unit.
