Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has come out sharing events that ensued after the outcome of the 2017 general elections, where he was Raila Odinga’s handyman.

In a post on his official X account on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the Saboti Member of Parliament revealed how, together with his Embakasi East counterpart Babu Owino, they were the closest to Raila Odinga during his quest for justice at the Supreme Court.

“In August 2017, @HEBabuOwino and I escorted Baba like bodyguards to the Supreme Court to seek justice for his stolen victory when he was left to fight for himself,” Amisi noted.

The legislator took on calling out a section of leaders who stood up and made remarks about Raila Odinga during the burial ceremonies, accusing some of hypocrisy.

“Those who were speaking and shouting at his funeral in Bondo were his tormentors,” said Amisi.

Amisi further remarked on his future efforts towards keeping Raila’s legacy in the struggle for a better Kenya.

“Hypocrites have successfully buried you, Jakom! Baba, while alive, we never let you walk alone in the corridors of justice; we shall not let you down even in death. The struggle for a better Kenya continues! Aluta continua. Viva! Kenya needs a renaissance!” wrote Amisi.

Amisi remarks to Arati

His remarks come just a day after he highly criticised Kisii Governor Simba Arati for suggesting that President William Ruto should join the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) following the death of party leader Raila Odinga.

In a statement on Monday, October 20, 2025, Amisi expressed outrage at the remarks, calling them insensitive and ill-timed.

“What nonsense is this? When are people going to mourn Baba first?” Amisi posed. “We need seven days of mourning before anyone starts declaring Ruto anything. Ruto is not going anywhere, and elections are in August 2027.”

The outspoken legislator accused some ODM members of engaging in premature political talk instead of focusing on honouring Raila’s legacy and mourning his passing.

“Deputy party what? Wonders will never cease! Kenya needs a renaissance,” he added.

His remarks came hours after Arati applauded President William Ruto for seeking to strengthen the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
