Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has warned his Kapseret counterpart over the dangers of chest thumbing regarding President William Ruto’s presidency and tenure.
In a statement shared late on Sunday, January 6, 2025, Amisi indicated that Oscar Sudi and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah are doing a disservice to President Ruto following their recent utterances.
In his unsolicited advice to the two loyal Ruto lieutenants, Sudi told the two lawmakers to ask for votes politely without insulting Kenyans.
He added that despite their strong stands, if Ruto is defeated in an election he will hand over power and transition to retirement, leaving them stranded.
To justify his comment, Caleb Amisi made reference to the late Daniel Moi and how Azimio la Umoja was assure of grabbing power following their endorsement from former President Uhuru Kenyatta but ended up losing to Ruto.
“Please learn to ask for votes from Kenya politely. Otherwise, “mtaonea term two kwa viusasa”. Ask all Moi ministers during ‘yote yawezekana bila moi’ 2002 election;they thought moi had a secret plan to retain power through Uhuru kumbe he didn’t,” Amisi’s statement read in part.
“Moi gave power happily, leaving everyone in confusion. Uhuru did leaving Azimio running helter-skelter in the streets up to now they have never recovered. ..verily, verily I tell you dimwits ,Ruto will hand over power, retire in peace and leave you asking which year did Kenya gain independence!” he added.
Oscar Sudi’s statement
This comes a day after Oscar Sudi dismissed those arguing that Ruto will serve for one term.
During Kerio Valley Interdenominational Prayers at Tot, Elgeyo Marakwet County, on Sunday, January 5, 2025, MP Oscar Sudi confidently declared that Ruto will serve two uninterrupted terms.
Sudi dismissed claims of political instability, asserting that Kenya has never had a one-term president, and Ruto will not break that tradition.
“I have seen some people whom we removed from office talking ill about the president. President Ruto, nobody should threaten you. Have you ever seen a country where a president serves for one term? They will jump up and down but in the end everything will be okay. President has remained with eight years before parking his luggage and leaving the chance for someone else,” Sudi stated in front of Ruto.
Ichung’wah on the other side reprimanded Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya for calling on President Ruto to stop abductions.
He went ahead to claim that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was behind the abductions.
