Aladwa to Malalah: I’ll deal with you politically, not through police

Makadara MP George Aladwa has thrown a jab at Democracy for Citizens (DCP) Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malalah, dismissing him as irrelevant and vowing to deal with him politically without involving law enforcement.
In a press briefing on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, in Nairobi, Aladwa scoffed at Malala’s recent remarks targeting leaders opposed to the ruling coalition’s direction, accusing him of political immaturity and arrogance.
“Malalah, I am too busy to engage your people and your childish talks. Nitadeal na wewe mwenyewe. “I will deal with you politically; I do not need the police or any security agency,” Aladwa charged.
“If you think someone is after you or planning evil, be it me, Elachi or any other leader, go to the police and record your complaints.”
Aladwa further stated that he does not recognise Malalah as his leader, arguing that the former UDA Secretary General lacks legitimacy in the eyes of many leaders and Kenyans.
“I do not recognise Malala as my leader, and many of us do not. He was parachuted into those positions and thinks he can lecture everyone,” Aladwa said.
“We want peace in Nairobi. I was elected here. And I am the chairperson of the ODM Nairobi branch. I am not planning anything bad for tomorrow in the city of Nairobi.”
The Makadara MP, a close ally of opposition leader Raila Odinga but also one of the more pragmatic figures in city politics, reaffirmed his support for a broad-based and inclusive government that respects the diversity of political voices.
He argued that the future of Kenya lies in collaboration, not in political chest-thumping or threats.
“This country needs leaders who unite, not divide. We are committed to building a broad-based government that serves all Kenyans, not one run by sycophants and gatekeepers,” he added.
The war of words signals deeper rifts in the country’s political alliances, especially as the 2027 succession politics begin to take shape.

Malala DCP mouthpiece?
Malalah has said that a well-orchestrated plan by the government to deploy goons in the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) on Thursday, August 21.
According to him, the scheme to deploy goons was agreed upon during a supposed night meeting between Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.
Malalah claimed that the goons will disrupt the peaceful procession by DCP supporters receiving their party leader, Rigathi Gachagua, upon his arrival from the United States tour.
The former Kakamega Senator further revealed the government’s intention to execute the plan through a section of politicians, including two Members of Parliament.
He further claimed that the two lawmakers have instructed the goons to harm Kenyans, destroy people’s property and loot businesses situated within the city.
“We have been informed that the Nairobi County Governor and Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen held several meetings and have activated their state-sponsored goons to cause harm to innocent citizens,” Malalah said.
“This is done in connection with George Aladwa and the Dagoretti North MP, Beatrice Elachi. The duo have expressed instructions to the goons to loot, destroy property and harm people,” he added.
While warning Sakaja and Murkomen against the deployment of goons, Malalah called on the Nairobi business community to come out and protect their property.
